Upon returning to Texas in 2000, I started working as an entry-level estimator at Mustang Engineering Co. in West Houston. A chance arose at Fluor Daniel Company as a piping designer, which was my concluding role in the office. Ultimately, I found myself let go during a tough period of layoffs. Many were already laid off in this field, making it difficult to get reemployment quickly. I went back to installing rebar until I transitioned into the roofing field, and I established Texan Roofing in 2005.
