I graduated in 1996 from Needville High School, received a full scholarship to compete as a linebacker for Northwestern State (La.), secured two Southland Conference Championships, and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. After returning to Texas in 2000, I started working as an entry-level estimator at Mustang Engineering in West Houston. A chance arose at Fluor Daniel as a piping designer, which was my concluding role in the office. Ultimately, I found myself let go during a tough period of layoffs. Many were already let go in this sector, making it hard to get reemployment quickly. I went back to laying rebar until I transitioned into the roofing business, and I started Texan Roofing in 2005.
