Billy's journey in construction began early, as his father owned a roofing business. He worked part-time for his father until he completed high school in 1982. In 1982, he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds during the first round of the June draft. After his professional baseball career ended, he joined various construction firms, gaining invaluable insights that continue to benefit him in managing projects today.

They welcomed their first son, Palmer Tyra, in 2015, and their second son, Wilkes Tyra, in 2018. Dustin resides in Augusta, GA, and looks forward to creating many connections in the CSRA.
