My roofing journey began in 1978 when I was hired by Dan Long Construction to install shake roofs as a high school student. I worked with Danny until I joined the US Army Airborne.
In 1982, after my Army service, I came back to Hawaii and roofed various shake projects in Waipio Gentry. In 1984, I returned to California and received my Roofing Contractor's license.
Upon my return to Hawaii in 1995, I oversaw work for some of the best roofing companies on Oahu before getting my Hawaii Roofing License. In 37 years of roofing, we have never received a single complaint.
I began my roofing career in 1978 in Newport Beach, CA. Following my service with the US 82nd Airborne Infantry, I came back to Hawaii in 1983 and was employed at Gentry Homes, focusing on shake roofs and various island projects.
In 1985, I returned to California and established Oceanview Roofing Co. in Newport Beach. After a successful period in California, the islands called me back, and I returned to Kailua in 1995. I have called Kailua home for almost 19 years and raised my family here.
I am proud to mark my 37th year in the roofing field this year. I have no plans to retire from roofing because I truly enjoy my work! Pete.
