In 1978, I began my journey in roofing with Dan Long Construction, installing shake roofs during high school. I stayed with Danny until I became part of the US Army Airborne.
In 1982, after my Army service, I came back to Hawaii and roofed various shake projects in Waipio Gentry. In 1984, I returned to California and received my Roofing Contractor's license.
Upon my return to Hawaii in 1995, I oversaw work for some of the best roofing companies on Oahu before obtaining my Hawaii Roofing License. In all my 37 years in roofing, we have not had a single complaint.
I started working in roofing in 1978 in Newport Beach, CA. Following my service with the US 82nd Airborne Infantry, I came back to Hawaii in 1983 and was employed at Gentry Homes, focusing on shake roofs and various island projects.
I went back to California in 1985 and founded Oceanview Roofing Co. in Newport Beach. After a successful period in California, the islands called me back, and I returned to Kailua in 1995. I have called Kailua home for almost 19 years and raised my family here.
I am proud to mark my 37th year in the roofing field this year. I don’t intend to retire from roofing, as I love what I do! The owner of Oceanview Roofing.
