Mitch Willis started in the construction sector at 14, serving as a carpenter and laborer while attending high school. He continued this work on weekends for a local construction firm while pursuing his college education, ultimately earning a degree in industrial systems technology by 21. He then started working as an Engineering Technician in the Facilities Engineering Department at the Albany Marine Corps Base.

While at the marine base, Mitch continued to work as a contractor on the side and eventually founded MVW Roofing in 2011. Eleven years later, he changed his role at the base to a firefighter, giving him additional time to concentrate on his business.

Eight months later, Mitch discovered he needed to medically retire as a firefighter due to the necessity of a pacemaker. This change allowed him even more time to focus on his business, and he earned a state residential general contractor's license at 29, followed by a light commercial state license three years later.

As MVW Roofing's owner, Mitch is in charge of managing employees, overseeing projects, and leading job site meetings.
