A first alternate for the Olmsted scholarship, which is the military's equivalent of the Rhodes scholarship, he served in various roles worldwide and was one of the few Marines selected to teach at the Army Artillery School in Ft. Sill, OK. Post-military, he has dedicated the last twenty years to construction, most recently serving as an energy specialist in the solar field.

That strategy proved successful, and Steve continues to implement it now. With thousands of roofing projects under our belt, Visalia Roofing can assemble several skilled crews as needed. Steve began his career at a young age, even during high school. At that time, students had the opportunity to gain class credit via work-study programs. He would finish his classes early and then go to work in construction later in the day. After high school, in 1978, he started working full-time in construction, where he learned about various construction jobs. Over time, he specialized in roof repair and installation. He primarily learned from his father and uncles, who were in the roofing industry. Steve and Shari have shared over 40 years of marriage. They have two sons and three grandchildren. When not working, Steve enjoys camping, fly fishing, and spending time with family. He particularly enjoys attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
