J. Kent secured his license as a roofing contractor from the California government in the month of February in 2011, and after that launched Kent Roofing Company. His dad, Sam came on board with the roofing business as the Site Superintendent and Sales Manager. This company is genuinely a family-run company.

Jonathan's grandfather started a residential maintenance company called AHS in the 1970s. It wasn't long before roofing repair and preventative maintenance was recognized as his niche. After many years of residential roofing, Jonathan was hired one of the top roofing companies. He remained with that business until acquiring his C39 contractors license.

Raised in the Santa Cruz area near Lexington Reservoir, he lived in different areas in Santa Clara County. After encountering his wife Lindsey, he made his home in Aptos, California. He resides there currently with his spouse and his two children. His eldest, Ryin is in high school. Jacen, his son is in junior high. Lindsey practices as a Speech and Language Pathologist.
