In Alaska, he honed his skills for ten years at Rain Proof Roofing. He began as a roofer for 4 years and rose to lead foreman for 6 years, he oversaw important state and government contracts. Following his time at Rain Proof, he joined Industrial Roofing Inc. (IRI) for 21 years. He started as the main foreman for 4 years, then became a Project Manager for 5 years, worked as an Estimator for residential and small commercial projects for 3 years, and finished as a Senior Estimator and Silent Partner for 9 years. While at IRI, he regularly oversaw $7 million in awarded projects each year. Upon his departure, Hernandez successfully estimated over $13 million worth of work. Since then, Nick has thrived in the roofing sector.
