We already had given the inside of our house a remodel and it was time for the outside. We had put it off for many years even had the shake roof power washed and recoated. We had used Yancey before on an outdoor patio cover so we decided to use them again. One stop shopping. I'm glad we did! We met with Dan and Tom, and they gave us a great price, under our budget. We signed contract end of Oct and Dec 1st the new roof was going on. I met with Patrick, wonderful guy, and he walked me thru everything. The first day of tear off went well. The delivery of the materials, well the poor guy fell thru the sheet rock, not a Yancey worker, the delivery co guy gives me his bosses number, I call and he will be out over weekend, again not Yancey workers, weekend came and went nothing. Rual (sp) asked me if the ceiling was fixed, nope. Immediately he called Patrick and boom it was fixed! So now the roof was ready to be put on, WONDERFUL GUYS, not one curse word lol. Patrick even took the time out and told us the truth on the the skylights that opened wouldn't work. We had too many trees and sticks branches would get caught. Not many companies would tell you that! Some companies are just for the money, not Yancey customer service. Now concrete and siding, again WONDERFUL GUYS! Again no bad words. Every morning I was greeted with a smile and a hello. I felt VERY safe here being a stay at home mom. I never worried and the guys were very respectful. The painter, Robert, excellent work too. He worked with me with the colors and how it was going to go. Now we are working on the ladt piece of our project, our house was a huge project and lots to be done. Now we have the electrical co here, Gubruds, again WONDERFUL. Every contractor that came out, cleaned up afterwards broom swept or whatever needed to be done. I really wish I could give Yancey 10 stars. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YANCEY. Great group of people and the communication was fabulous. Thank you for turning my 70 looking home to a home that I smile when I come home

Yancey Home Improvement - When looking for solar information on the internet, numerous companies answered our inquiry. Unfortunately, they were selling lease deals, and not a sale of the product. They would look no further than our credit score. Only 1 company was interested in us. Not our score, but us. Their salesman, Joe Hess worked with us; getting a price we could afford, explaining how everything works, keeping us apprised of when and how soon the solar panels would go on. They also provided some electrical work, and a whole-house fan to be installed soon. I would recommend this company for any home improvement you desire.

We interviewed a lot of roofers and not only did Yancey responded to us they gave us an honest quote and time frame. They were not the cheapest but the company who wanted to do the job for US not for money. The roofers busted their tails and went above and beyond expectations. We heard nothing but horror stories about how dirty roofers leave your home but here it was just the opposite, I think my garage is cleaner. We will use Yancey for any future work. Thanks for the jib well done.

Called them out for a roof and window quote. Dan shows up almost 30 minutes late without any notice of being late. After he did the walk through of the inside and measuring Windows I asked him if I needed to stay while he was on the roof. I was now running late going somewhere since he had showed up late. So we scheduled for him to return and do his presentation while my wife and I were both home later in the week. So the day comes when he is to come present no call and no show. This company wasted a few hours of my time, maybe you will have better luck. Thumbs down from me.

Thanks to Yancey we have a beautiful bathroom! The people that work for this company were professional and personable. Any questions or concerns that we had were quickly addresses. They completed the job on time and we love it!

We had Dan come out to give an estimate on a rental property for a roof that had dry rot and needed replacing. When i scheduled the inspection I had given the assistant on the phone the correct spelling of my address. We had an appointment at around noon. He called about 20 after or so to confirm the address, where ever he was he was not at the house and said he was still close in the area and would be there soon (I think he was just running late). When he showed up he talked for a good 20 minutes or so (some important others not so much) before even getting on the roof and checking anything. We had another inspection afterwards because since its our rental we cant be there back and forth for different contractors. The other roof man just went straight onto the roof and started to measure away. Dan was still on the roof and seem to very offended by this. When he was leaving we were asking about the gutters and all that and he told us they should definitely be replaced. He would call us or wanted to contact my partner (which is my father). As It was MY MONEY that i would be paying and investing into this house that was an insult he wanted to go over my head. I waited till the weekend to hear back from him. NOTHING. called TWICE, left a Voicemail! Anything. NOTHING.
he was offended that there was another contractor there but he was late. I had spoken about my dad being a retired general contractor and how he invested in my business and was kind of my partner so he wanted to speak with HIM instead of me. This all seems ridiculous and then when I tried to get an estimate he never even replied. Very unprofessional!

My mom had a 40 year old leaking tile roof. There was lots of dry rot and carpenter ant damage. We chose Yancey for the repairs and roof replacement because my grandfather and father had worked for Yancey Company in the 1940's. They have always stood for quality in the products they sell and in their workmanship. Garrett came and gave an estimate. There was so much damage that some of the cost was dependent on what damage was found after the roof was taken off. My mom picked a composite roof. We were concerned about how her new roof would look compared to the old tile one. Yancey came when they said and always cleaned up. The job was done in a timely manner. It was nice to have the carpentry work and the roof put on by the same company so we were not trying to coordinate contractors. Garrett quickly took care of any issues that came up. My loves the look of her new roof too.

The only good thing about my experience with Yancey was that they answered the phone promptly and returned calls timely.
During the December winter storms, I like many of my neighbors, had water coming in through the roof. I called several companies who either didn't return my call, or called after I'd chosen someone else. That someone else was Yancey. They were excellent on the phone and would have someone out the next day (very important when water is dripping onto your floor). However, the cost for the service call was $375 for two techs for 30 minutes...UP FRONT OVER THE PHONE. I was desperate, so I did it. They called at 6:45am and I was impressed by the knowledge and availability, although Patrick was very ANTI- tile roofing (should have been my first clue). After the 9am visit they said I had a slipped tile and they pushed it back into place. If it started leaking again, they would have to come out and remove a few of the tiles to make repairs and then secure the tiles back into place. I wondered why they didn't just make the repairs while they were there, maximizing my $375.
It started leaking two days later. I called in the morning and Patrick called me right back. I was impressed. He said we would wait out the weekend (no rain) and then contact me Monday. The message he left on Monday stated they would need to remove 10 x 15 portion of my tile roof and make the repairs at a cost of approximately $2,250. I couldn't understand how one slipped tile turned into a 10 x 15 replacement. The conversation about disliking tile roofs was starting to make sense. I never called them back.
I was able to secure a free estimate from Creative Roofing, who had been recommended in the neighborhood for their quick turn around at reasonable rates. When the owner came down from my roof, he said all the tiles were fine, but that the builder had neglected to install flashing around a vent (Photo attached). The total cost to repair was $275. While very excited for the inexpensive and immediate repair of my roof, I was extremely disappointed that I had been charged $375 by Yancey, sold a story about a slipped tile, and almost paid $2,250 for work that never needed to be done! And, they didn't even notice the builder defect? Did they even go onto the roof?
I would not recommend Yancey and I am considering filing a complaint with the Contractors State License board!

I took off a week of work and interviewed more than 8 companies I wanted to do business with. I knew it was a large investment and I was excited to learn this was a multifaceted company. After spending time with the sales team, I was excited to place my trust in this company', we signed and wrote the check. I thought it would be a good partnership. I should gave known it was too good to be true. I meticulously reviewed the contract and was assured ""everything would be fine"". I figured it would be 1 week to process the paperwork, one week to pull permits and order supplies and a third week to install. I was assured that it would not be a problem. It was a problem. I'm received a call after the mandatory 72 ""right to cancel"" period and was told the contract needed to be rewritten. What? Not all if the items we agreed to were included in the company requested revised contract. I reluctantly signed after I requested they were included.
I took another week off of work to gave Two projects done. It has been 1 month now and no work is done. The sales team simply told me that once the contract is signed, they are out if it. No communication, no follow through on commitments and no accountability for my order or contract. To be fair, I did receive two visits from one if the two project managers. He agreed to come back to walk me through the order again to make sure we were on the same page. The one bright.
If you are looking for service, keep looking. I wish I could comment on the product, but no work has been done. I'll be sure to post an update after the work is done....

We are so satisfied with the company on so many levels. Tom Yancey was timely and courteous. He showed me the products and explained why and how they are needed. The crew is polite and clean. All debris were removed. Tom was very pleasant to work with and I would highly recommend him.
