I used Yancey to complete a remodel at my parents' home in Sacramento. I was nervous at first because you hear all sorts of horror stories about dealing with contractors but I was quickly shown how different their company is. Even though I didn't deal with them in person, they helped my parents and communicated with me through the whole process. If you're looking for help with home improvements in the Sacramento area I would look no further!!!

I had yancey replace my roof on my house.they came out to my house and look at it .we talked and they give me a quote. They keep me updated when they could do the work on it.told me it would be 3 days ..it only took them 2 ..they work fast and cleaned..very happy with my new roof thank you !!!

I saw their display at the Home Show. They took some information about the work I needed done and scheduled an appointment. They showed up and took measurements and said that I would have a quote within a couple days. They never give us a quote. When I contacted them back they said they would call me back which took several days before they did. When they did call back they said that they would have to try and figure out where the information was and that they would get back to me. Never received call back from them again.

After looking at lots of options for solar; online calculators, mailers, big box stores, home shows, making and taking calls and talking to lots of people, we zeroed in on Yancey. We immediately felt good about them after meeting and chatting with (Tom, I believe) at a Sacramento home and garden show. We also figured since they don't just do solar, any roofing or other issues could be quickly and properly addressed.
Everyone else we considered was in the same price ballpark, so we focused our attention on choosing someone we felt would answer our questions honestly, size our system appropriately, not push their own financing or any other agenda and get the project completed before the end of the year. We got all that with Yancey.
Joe helped us every step of the way, answering all our questions, setting our expectations, explaining all our options, ROI, sizing, layout, and even a final drone inspection to ensure no damaged tiles after install. He's made himself available for follow-up questions, too, which makes me feel even better about the whole process.
Everything looks great thanks to a top notch crew. Michael took some initial measurements and other preparations early on, offered a slightly alternate layout which I hadn't thought of but am much happier with now that it's installed. The crew arrived soon after with panels and other equipment and installed the brackets. The next day the crew was up on the roof, in the attic and outside by the power box putting everything together in concert. They painted everything by the power box to match with some touch-up exterior paint we had on hand. On the roof are two rectangular arrays, on southeast and southwest exposures with no visible conduit between them since all wiring is in the attic... Beautiful! It's pretty cool watching the meter run backwards, too!
A county inspection, a little PG&E paperwork, and we're net-energy-metering in no time. On our first full NEM bill, excluding taxes, the electric portion was less than 10 bucks. And January weather wasn't ideal for solar. Summer should be awesome.
I highly recommend Yancey for your solar needs and we'll definitely keep them in mind for future home improvement projects, as well.

Super unhappy! I made an appointment to have my roof looked at. I had to take time off work to be there. No one ever showed up. I called and they had no clue where the worker was. Then they offered to send another guy out later that day. I ended up taking the evite day off work to wait for the bet guy. The next guy only did financing and wanted to get me signed up for a whole new roof before anyone had ever looked at it. I said no. He told me he'd have someone come out to look at it right away. Never heard from anyone again.

WOMEN BEWARE: this is one of the most SEXIST companies I have ever spoken with. They absolutely insisted through the entire process that I have my husband available to meet with the roof estimator. They WOULD not accept no for an answer. I HAVE NEVER encounter such sexist behavior.
Upon setting up my first meeting for an entire roof repair I was asked to set up an appointment so that both my husband and I could be present. I said no that my husband and I are a team and all information would be passed along to him. Reluctantly I was given an appointment. Then two salesman showed up proceeded to give me some ridiculous slideshow on the history of their company and ONCE AGAIN said that they wanted to meet with my husband and I to firm things up. I asked if I could just have them email my husband as he was at work and they said ""No, if we did that for you we would have to do that for everyone."" Oh, so you can email me 3 times to remind me of an appointment, but you can't email the information from the actual appointment. GET OUT OF HERE! The other companies I spoke with NEVER pressured me into having my husband present. Would love to hear if they asked male if they would have their wives present multiple times?
After this I was called to remind me that I had a follow up appointment set and I let them know that I didn't need their service and that we went with Home Depot. I promptly let them know that their companies behavior was inexcusable and sexist. And you know what? There was a defensive response a little to quickly as though they had been accused of this behavior before. NOT OKAY.

I called Yancey for a quote on replacing some siding and then painting my entire house. The whole job was handled in a professional manner and I'm very pleased with the finished product. Job well done!!!!!

New roof, new insulation and solar panels - we are buttoned up now! These guys came in and brainstormed how to get us the beefiest roof and insulation combo before installing our solar panels. We are so excited about what they came up with. It was not a straightforward job, but their ideas were awesome and they did such a great job - our house is way more comfortable now - we really don't need a/c any more except the most extreme days. AND even if we do, we are making our own electricity! Love it. Thanks Eric and team on the roofing side and Joe on the solar side.

I shopped around for Solar. I was so happy to stop by Yancey Solar's booth at the California State Fair. I signed up for a free quote and it was the best thing I ever did. Eric Nichols came by and gave me a quote that was more than half of what I had been quoted by Solar City. Eric was professional, a great person and very responsive to my questions. Joe Hess was brought in to plan for installment and he was and is awesome. He was there every step of the way to installment. He is personable and knowledgeable. Until now he checks in on me and has reached out to check up on the system. Shawna in the office has been helpful when ai have called. The entire team was wonderful to work with. It seems to be a long term relationship and I have enjoyed it. I recommend them to anyone over any solar company out there. Best experience!
