Absolute Crooks Stnd behind nothing. No call backs, dont stand behind warranty, shoddy work, excuse after excuse for not showing up. Unethical business practices. Run from these people...just terrible.
Jared S.You don't see a lot of negative reviews of Xtreme Roofing and Construction aka XTC. This is because they attempt to make unsatisfied customers sign paperwork agreeing, under threat of future legal action, that they will not speak about or post about Xtreme in a negative way. I know because they tried to make me sign this paperwork. In fact, after they failed to even start on a roofing project I hired them for, signed an agreement for (one that never mentioned what I could or couldn't speak about), and left a deposit for... after 7 months of unanswered calls, staff changes that meant I was never talking to the same person, and a shell game of start dates, when I finally said I wanted my thousands of dollars deposit back and to cancel our agreement, they refused to return my money for a full month unless I agreed to their gag order, legally signing away my right to tell people about my bad experience. It took me getting a lawyer involved and preparing a small claims suit to get them to return the money they were holding. They stated, in writing, that they would not return the money because I would not sign the document that included the agreement not to speak negatively about them. When they finally gave in, it was only seemingly because they were informed the lawsuit would be filed the following morning.
Even when they finally returned my money, they spitefully shorted my deposit by $30. I would speculate they only agreed to finally return my deposit without my promise of silence because they didn't want to be embarrassed in court in Sanford, where they're trying to ramp up a solar business too... but that's just speculation. I can speculate if I want, though. They have no right to stop me.
I don't recommend working with them, but if you somehow already are, carefully read every document they put in front of you. Don't sign anything with them that forces you to be silent about them. They want to make it illegal for their disgruntled former clients to tell the truth about bad experiences. That, I think, is worse than them just being a lackluster company.
I challenge the City of Sanford government to look into these business practices by Xtreme roofing and construction, and of any contractor with similar practices and disqualify them from working for the city (which they brag about doing when courting new customers) as long as they make people sign agreements like this. Any contractor who tries to strong arm rights from their citizens as part of a contractural agreement should get no business from the city or benefit from the tax dollars of the same people they are legally trying to silence.
I contacted many roofing companies in the area to replace one portion of my roof and ultimately chose Xtream Roofing and Construction for many reasons. As a single older woman, I have had many challenges with contractors in general and particularly with roofing companies. The team from Xtreme are an exception. When I called to make an appointment, the response was very quick. Adam, the company sales representative, and the owner both came to meet with me to inspect the roof and develop a quote for replacement. Adam was my point person and after the first meeting he assisted me to develop a detailed proposal tweaking all of the small details that a professional contract should provide. He responded patiently to my many questions and provided the important information I needed to make a final decision to hire the company.
Once the project was scheduled, Wayne the site supervisor, became actively involved. He posted the permit and continued to be in constant contact before the scheduled installation day. He took photos from start to finish, documentation I needed for my insurance company. When the old shingles were removed unexpected rotting roof deck boards were discovered. Wayne showed me photos of the damaged boards. He was quick to solve the problem and provide me with the extra cost which I felt was very fair.
The installation was a two-day event and after the first night the crew cleaned the site and covered the roof to protect it from possible rain. Once the job was finished the crew scanned the site for debris and nails and carefully cleaned up. The next day the dumpster driver also scanned the site for any additional waste, especially nails, that the crew might have missed. Both Adam and Wayne made a final site visit to inspect the work before the final city inspection which happed two days after the work was finalized.
I want to comment on Extreme's payment model. A small deposit finalizes the contract and starts the process which includes all the paperwork related to Permitting. Once the work actually begins another payment is due and final payment is due once the City successfully inspects the work. This helped me to develop a trusting relationship with the company and especially the team.
Adam and Wayne were both a pleasure to work with. They were professional, knowledgeable, patient and engaged. Most important was that there was always open and reliable communication throughout the project.
The roof installation was executed with the best materials, outstanding workmanship, on schedule and has a great warranty program. I'm confident that my new roof will last for many years.
I highly recommend Xtreme Roofing and Construction. They are exceptional.
This job could've been better . construction director came out and resolved all problems
XRC is one of the worst Construction Co. ever. They have absolutely no work ethics, professionalism and knowledge in building a restaurant. They swore they knew how to, but that was a complete fabrication. Never showed up for weeks at a time. Poor and shoddy workmanship. Please stay away from XRC.
This company was wonderful from start to finish. They communicated well with us and checked on us everyday to make sure the work was being done to our satisfaction. Mark was wonderful and gave us a remediation on what we should use to replace our roof. The guys that worked on our roof worked so hard and it was even raining that day and they continued til the work was done. Their manager that was on site was wonderful and very polite about things. The only thing that through us off was we had to pay and additional $900 to get wood replaced that was rotten. Other than that the price was right and we got gutters put in to help with the rain from flooding our front porch. We did have to call Mark and ask him where the guys were to put our gutters in that was scheduled that day. After about an hour the guys were here putting in our gutters. But overall we are VERY satisfied with the flow of things and the professionalism of this company. Thank you again.
Pearlman B.Beware of this company. I know this is a lot to read but please take the time to.read it. I can only speak to my experience. But I would not recommend or refer them to anyone I know. I really wish I had gone with another company. They start off good. The owner comes to your house makes you feel all good and warm inside. Once you sign the contract everything changes. The communication goes out the window. I don't know how many crews they use to put the roofs on, but the crew they sent to my house rush the job. They left old nails all over the place including in my drive way where I got a nail in my tire. The shingles are supper thin. The drip edge was bent in so many places. They did offer me free gutters to cover up the poorly applied drip edge. They left old materials on the side of my house. They also sent a electrician to my house to unhook my vent fans in attic. No one was home so the electrician just let himself in, never mind the alarm going off. So my security company called the cops and I had to leave work to come see what was going on. They would just send people to the house without letting me know. Again the communication sucks with this company. Just today I found more nails in my drive way from when they put the free gutters on to cover up poorly applied drip edge. Oh then they put a lean on my house because they said they didn't get the final payment from the insurance Company but 2 days later they got the final payment so they had to release the lean. They are quick to want to bill you but they take their time correcting their mistakes.
After hurricane Matthew pushed a large pine tree into our garage and related damage XRC repaired trusses, eaves, soffits and garage ceiling along with a new roof. The work was completed in a timely fashion with quality materials and workmanship at a competitive price. Our insurance company adjuster gave us an unrealistic estimate. XRC negotiated a settlement with our insurance company by pointing out damage that the adjuster missed. I recommend this company for roofing and construction work.
The professionalism and value of Xtreme Roofing was like none other then before. I was terrified to work with another contractor after my last roofing mess. These guys were pros from start to finish. Customer service is great, and the roof looks AMAZING. Highly recommend for anyone that is looking for a company who needs help with insurance approval. They got our entire roof approved and all we had to pay was $500. A+++
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE of this company!!!
I waited 8 months after Hurricane Irma damaged my home in Orlando for this company to finish the repairs to my home!
The owner came out and promised the repairs would be completed in 2-3 months. It took one month to get the tree removed from the roof.
Then they found more damage and it was going to take longer BUT no one would provide me with a completion date. After numerous unanswered emails, phone calls, text messages I finally got a completion date from XRC representative and owner's son of February 16th. The owner and his son stood with me in my house on February 7th and said it would be completed on that date.
That date came and went without a phone call, explanation, or apology from anyone.
The only time these people communicate with their customer is when they want their money.
They took until May 2018 to finally complete all repairs caused by the September 2017 storm.
There workers even complain about them!
The quality of workmanship is terrible!
They emailed my insurance company saying the work was completed and it was far from complete (see pictures) EXTREMELY POOR WORKMANSHIP! They are messy, used my personal shop vac, brooms and mops...
I DO NOT recommend this company for anything!
