I was hoping to make it through this winter without replacing our roof, but discovered a leak during one of our recent rains and had to strap on the big blue tarp in hopes of minimizing damage. I called two contractors to obtain bids. Grover from Wonderlin met me at the house, performed an inspection and told me it was time for a new roof. He explained my options, left his card and told me he would have an estimate to me within two days. Two days later, I received the estimate.

The other contractor apparently came by when I was not home, and provided an estimate. His estimate was not as detailed, and I never met the man. I sent an e-mail asking him to clarify his bid, and a few days later he replied.

Wonderin's estimate was slightly higher, but Grover took the time to meet me, and that made all the difference. I called and told them I wanted them to do the work. I received the contract the next day, signed it, gave them a deposit, and got on the schedule, for late January.

To me extreme pleasure, Grover called me on Monday night of this week and told me that he had a cancellation, asking if i would like them to start the next day. I was super happy and gave him a resounding ""YES"".

The tear off crew arrived first thing Tuesday morning, and by late afternoon, had ripped off the old roof, cleaned up and left everything ready for the roofing crew. Wednesday morning the games began. Ryan and crew arrived, made some minor repairs, and the materials were delivered and ready to install by 9 am. Late in the day, the upstairs was complete, and the downstairs was about 60% done too. Today the crew arrived and finished the job.

I am so happy to have a new roof on our home--3 weeks early! Wonderlin was fast, efficient, all the guys were polite, and they did a fabulous job. Very pleased that I chose them to do the work, and highly recommend this honest, hard working, family owned company.

Bring on the rain, the blue tarp has been retired.

I highly recommend Grover and Wonderlin Roofing. The scheduling was easy and somebody actually answered they phone, which is rare these days for a roofing company. Grover called ahead of time and was on time and very professional. He came out to do an inspection and gave me a thorough analysis of what I thought was a problem with the roof. Although he didn't recommend any work to be done right now, I'll definitely be calling Wonderlin for any future roofing needs. As most of the reviewers agree, Wonderln provides 5-star worthy service.

One year after Wonderlin installed a new roof on our house we developed a leak in our first floor kitchen. It was puzzling since the top floor, closest to the new roof, was completely dry. I called Wonderlin and Grover, the chief, came out the next day and tested the roof and found it didn't leak. Then he spent an hour and a half helping me locate the rusted out drain pipe that was the source of the dreaded leak. That is what I call excellent customer service.

I saw Wonderlin Roofing Systems Inc in Castro Valley always doing roofs in my area. My big home need a new roof before the rains came. I called Wonderlin Roofing Systems Inc and talked to Catherine and told her, I think I need a new roof. Catherine told me no problem and she set up an appointment. Grover called me that night around 5:00p and we met the next day at 12:00p. Grover and Ryan came by and both climbed on the roof and took about 30 minutes to inspect my roof. They both said...yepppppp you need a new one. I signed the contract and gave them a small deposit to start the job. I told Grover and Ryan to do what you want to do and make it right. Three day after signing the contract....Wonderlin Roofing Systems Inc started their work. It took them 6 days to install a new roof...I'm talking about pulling the whole roof off rebuilding to whole roof and deck roof too and adding extra like.....all new fascia board plus painting to match...adding a solar powered attic fan...removing and vacuuming all the insulation in the attic and installing new high energy-saving installation...all new rain gutters all around the house with downspout and installing a remote control skylight. I'm so overwhelmed by their work, I can't seem to remember everything Wonderlin Roofing Systems Inc installed but, I assure you it was done perfect! I gave Grover and Ryan an open check book and told them to do the job as if it was their home and this was your money. The job looks PERFECT and the price was half of what STATE ROOFING INS WANTED TO DO IT FOR.

Wonderlin Roofing Systems did a very fine job on our tile roof (which needed maintenance) and all gutters had been replaced. Both the owners Grover and Ryan were very polite and professional in all their dealings with us.
The work was started on time and the entire work crew was extremely dedicated and hardworking. They cleaned up every day after their long hours. The quality of their work and roofing knowledge is outstanding. They pay attention to detail, and are always ready to listen to our questions and provide sound advice. We are very happy with the IB roofing which has made our patio room cooler in the hot summer days. They went out of their way to complete our late request to change the skylights on our patio room roof.
It gives us great pleasure to recommend Wonderlin Roofing Systems very strongly. We had earlier seen the excellent job they had done for our neighbor across the court. Wonderlin Roofing Systems always try to do the best job they can, keeping the customer's special needs in mind.

I highly recommend Wonderlin roofing systems for any roofing need.

The roof on my house had worn out shingles, several leaks, the flashing was outdated, and the ventilation was inadequate to the point one area of the house would be 10 degrees cooler inside than another area of the house. It required a complete tear off. I knew it would also have some repair work required due to the leaks. I called six roofing companies for estimates. Two companies showed up but never returned an estimate, one company said they were too busy, and two other companies submitted estimates I thought to be too costly. The last roofing company I called recommended I call Wonderlin roofing. I'm glad they did.

I called Wonderlin Roofing Systems and made an appointment for an estimate. The day came and I really needed to postpone the appointment until the next day. They changed the schedule with no problem. Grover showed up right on schedule and inspected my roof. He showed me many options for roofing systems, talked to me about the ventilation problem, and discussed many viable solutions. Since it was raining intermittently, and I'm sure this increased the number of potential jobs, a complete tear off of the roof naturally would have to be scheduled out a few weeks and during a dry period.

Grover's estimate came in better than any other company's. We selected the materials and made a deal. They worked around the rainy days so as not cause any undue situations or added work, and fit me in during a warm dry week. The tear off took one day. The install, including new flashing, new vents, a solar fan, all new roofing materials and underlayment, and dry rot repair, was done in three days.

The roof looks great. It rained a few days after the new roof was put on and all was well.

All through the process everyone I was in contact with at Wonderlin Roofing was professional, courteous, understanding, and helpful. The schedule for payment installments of 10% down, then some after roof tear off, and the rest at final inspection was easy and manageable. They handled the entire permit process seamlessly. They cleaned the place up after the job was complete. They even made recommendations throughout the process for future reference.

My roof looks great. The ventilation now keeps the entire house much more temperate. And, the best part, there was no stress or worry with any part of the experience.

It's always good to remember that contractors clean up after the job as best they can. We, as property owners, all have to expect to have to do a little as well, after the job is complete.

Grover from Wonderlin showed up on time and was efficient. He gave me honest answers about our roof deck leak problem (even if I didn't want to hear the bad news!) and quotes to fix our skylight and do some re-sealing. The scheduling process was not as transparent as it should have been. After giving a deposit and signing contracts for repair - we had no idea when to expect the repairs to be done. Two weeks after sending the deposit, I contacted the company for an estimated time of repair - they explained the ""wait list"" process to me and ensured me I'd know by the following week when the repairs would be done. The next day Grover himself called and scheduled the repairs for two day after that (Wonderful!!)

The team arrived early (luckily my husband was home to let them in) to do the job. They were done with the small job within an hour. The work looks sloppy, honestly, and the workers tromped some sort of cement/dirt all over my dark tarmac driveway - which will not wash off. They even spilled a bit of tar/sealant on my walk-up to the front door. But - nothing seems to be leaking anymore - so far the work seems sound (albeit sloppy).

Not sure if I will use them again, If I need to.

This is a top of the line roofing company! They have been in the roofing business for many years. We had a problem after the roof was installed and it was quickly fixed! Dependable, professional with lots of experience. What more could a local ask for?

I have never been more dissatisfied with a firm in my 40 years as a homeowner. We have called Mr. W back maybe 6 times for him to complete the job -- which in fact was never actually completed by him or his crew. It has been approximately a year and after it rains my ceilings look like they have been sprayed with a fire hose, condensation falls onto the hardwood floors. My house has a flat roof which is clearly a very poor design, but we were so frustrated with every interaction with Wonderlin that we are now paying another roofing company to install a brand new roof rather than attempting to deal with Wonderlin again.
