I don't usually review products or companies unless I am dissatisfied with them and believe my feedback can help others make informed decisions. But Western Sierra has been so good that I feel compelled to go the other way, again hoping my feedback can help others make informed decisions.

My first experience with Western Sierra was in 2008 when I had a new roof, gutters and down spouts installed. They did a fine job installing my new stone-coated steel roof, but the new down spout locations didn't match the old ones, resulting in exposed unpainted areas previously hidden by the old down spouts, up high near the roof on my 2 story home. When I brought this to Tony's attention, he offered to paint the spots for me if I would supply paint matching the exterior of the home. Within a couple of days, Tony did as promised and the blemishes could no longer be seen.

In 2015 I was shopping for solar panels. After talking to several ""mainstream"" solar companies, I called Tony and found out that Western Sierra does solar as well as roof installations. Let me tell you what went right...

1) Immediately my comfort level increased, as it just made sense to have to the same company that installed my roof also install solar on top of it. With anyone else, I'd have been apprehensive about damage to the steel tiles that I might not discover for a decade or more.

2) Tony was willing to match the best price I had previously found for comparable equipment.

3) Tony was also willing to extend his warranty to match that of a competitor. This made a statement to me about his confidence in the product he was installing.

4) The price and warranty were not haggle points - once I made him aware of the competition's points and substantiated them, he simply offered to match them.

5) When Tony went to his supplier to pick up my solar panel order, they had just discontinued the model we had planned to purchase, forcing him to buy a newer upgraded model for more money. He did NOT pass the extra charges on to me.

6) Tony volunteered ahead of time to paint the new conduit and any other exposed parts to be installed along the house walls. Yes, I still had the paint from the down spout repainting.

7) Shortly after the roof/down spout installation, one of my dogs chewed up the bottom of the one of the new down spouts. When Tony saw this 7 years later, he offered to replace the down spout at no additional charge.

8) 8 months after the solar installation was complete, following a recent storm, I found the spark arrestor from my chimney on the patio in the backyard. Yesterday, I asked Tony to come out and check the solar panels for any damage it may have caused to them while being blown around on the roof. He came out today, found no problem with the panels, and reinstalled the spark arrestor, all for no charge.

In summary, Tony is a guy who seems to see things from his customers' perspectives, and then takes the extra steps to see that they are comfortable and satisfied with his product. You can't do better business than that. If I could award one star for each of the things that went right, I would.

We had a metal roof installed by Western Sierra roofing. It is a simple roof with no complicated crickets or valleys or dormers. It cost us plenty, but we didn't mind because we thought we were getting a good roof and a good installation. That's what their salesman assured us and backed it up with some thick binder full of pictures, supposedly from previous Western Sierra installations. He insisted on getting his commission check on the spot, which he did, and then he was nowhere to be found.

The roof was installed, and it has leaked from day one! Tony did show up to ""fix"" the leak, but most of what he did was caulk gaps and nail holes. The roof kept leaking each and every rainy season, causing damage to our dining table, hardwood floors, and chairs.

When we expressed concern that the five-year ""warranty"" was going to run out and the roof was still leaking, Tony assured us that he would honor the warranty for FIVE years from the date of the last fix. In other words, he is warranting that the roof will be leak-free for a consecutive five-year period. However, when the five-year period ended, Tony bailed. He wouldn't return our calls, and finally wanted to charge us extra to show up. Needless to say, the roof is still leaking and it is nearly impossible to find another contractor willing to take on that responsibility.

Tony, come fix your faulty installation. It is still leaking.

I highly recommend Western Sierra for any and all roofing needs. The owner was very accommodating to our demanding schedules.

His crew went over and beyond with insuring our pool would not get dirty and picked up all of the nails and staples around the premises. The crew was aware we had a toddler and spent a great deal of time cleaning up the debris. Great job and highly recommend !!!

Western Sierra has been above a 5 star company in my opinion. The owner of the company worked directly with my wife and I from start to finish. When we originally had Tony out for a quote, we knew wouldn't be able to start the project for a couple of months. Tony was more than happy to give us a price and stuck with that number to the end. His professionalism was unmatched by any other contractor we had look at the project. We purchased the roof first in January 2015 and once that was complete and we refinanced the home, we were able to purchase the solar. Sierra Western did an amazing job on the roof, and an even better job on the solar installation. We have neighbors and friends that have done solar through other companies and their jobs don't look half as clean as ours. They did a truly amazing looking job all throughout. No owner of a company can promise to be on-site every day, but even when he wasn't here his employees didn't skip a beat. The employees always conducted themselves as if this was a home, not just a house. They were punctual, clean, courteous and above all HONEST. Thank You.

I called up Western Sierra because we needed new gutters. We started talking about solar for the house and he gave me some great information. He was honest, professional and didn't pressure a sale. After discussing with my other half, we decided to get a few estimates over the next few months. His was one a the lower estimates, but the kicker was he was able to evaluate my roof and gutters. The roof was in great shape, but the gutters needed to be replaced (which I knew already). It's been a year already since my solar was installed, and it was the BEST decision ever. My electric bill went from over $2,000/year to only $26 last year, and we used the AC all summer. THANKS TONY!

I called Western Sierra Roofing based off of a recommendation from a co-worker. I am sure glad I did. I was close to having a company install leased solar panels. Which I now realize would have been a terrible idea. Tony promptly came out and gave me an estimate. To say he was courteous and professional is an understatement and on top of that, he was not pushy. I very much appreciate that type of attitude.
A few days went by before I called and approved the start of the project. He started a couple days later, was ALWAYS on time and performed every task he said he was going to, when he said he was going to. It is so refreshing to get quality customer service! A lot of companies these days seem to be lacking that. I couldn't be happier with my solar set up.
I highly recommend calling Western Sierra Roofing. Again, I am glad I did. You most likely will be too.
