Nope. Not worth the effort of chasing them down for a quote. Had set estimate appointment time and without even a phone call they didn't show. I got a voicemail days later saying our roof was too steep and they couldn't risk anyone getting injured in an El Niño year of busy roof work. Very unprofessional in my opinion. The fact that they couldn't let me know they weren't showing up for the appointment they set with me would have been enough for me to skip them anyway. Our roof is like almost every other house in downtown. Never heard of a roofer afraid of a roof that is pitched.

I was looking to buy a new roof and I came across Western roofing company in Fremont and Troy showed me the (Metal) type roofing material and I was impressed. Troy came out to my house and showed me samples and explained the difference between the asphalt type roof and metal roof tiles. The metal roof is a little more expensive but I liked the warranty that was offered. Troy and Toni took very good care of me and they keeped me informed all the way through the process and scheduling. They even where able to install my roof earlier then scheduled. It only took a day and a half to complete my roof and new gutters. I would recommend this company to my friends and family.

We were looking to replace our old roof with something to match or surpass the longevity (over 35 years) of our wood shakes with the additional requirement of being fire resistant. A metal roof surfaced as a candidate (long lasting, fire resistant, light, and cool) but we were concerned of the high cost. A long phone conversation with Raymond from Western Roofing System put us at ease. There was no pressure just the facts. We had Raymond come our for an estimate; it sounded reasonable and again no pressure. After a few weeks we decided to go for it. Troy scheduled an appointment and Toni kept us informed with the upcoming scheduled event. On the scheduled day the crew showed up on time, they were professional and worked hard! It's been a very hot August but no matter in four days we were done and our roof looks great! Thank you to Western Roofing System for a superior product at a reasonable cost and a job well done! We highly recommend this company!

Looking for a roofing company that does metro shake (metal) roof was kind of a hassle. I contacted a few different places. Some said they don't do this kind of roof. Others said they were going to come out and give me an estimate, but never did.

With that said, Raymond from western roofing was great to work with and was good about being responsive and following up - FOLLOWING UP IS KEY when someone is making such a big purchase.

He took care of permits, inspections, getting approval from our HOA. I only had to show up to give the money :)

One thing I did note was they misquoted me on the amount of wood rot on the roof. Me and my neighber (homes are connected) were getting our roofs changed at the same time so perhaps it was a mistake. Either way I think it's a good idea to be on site when additional charges are being assessed since sometimes mistakes do happen. Also, its good to understand what you're paying for so their no miscommunication.

Do NOT waste your time!
Called for an estimate on a full roof replacement. Friday morning estimator came out inspected roof and told me he would email an estimate on Monday morning as he was in a hurry to get to a party that day.

Tuesday morning I emailed asking where the estimate was. No response no reply. Wednesday noon. I then received a call from another person from a different company telling me that he was told to give me an estimate by Western Roofing.

At that point I called Western Roofing and asked what was going on, the person that answered the phone had no idea. Later when speaking to the estimator he told me that they were ""not the cheapest"" and felt I could do better with his ""trusted friend"".

In my opinion Western Roofing acted unprofessional wasting my time by coming out
Measuring and then not following through with what they said they would do.

I feel lucky who knows what kind of workmanship I would have received with a company that can't keep their word and follow through with the very thing they are in business for!

Hard to believe there's only one review for Western Roofing System in San Leandro! I knew I had to chime in to let folks know about this great local business. My parents' home needed a new roof, and I did a bit of research before I decided to have Western Roofing re-roof my parents' house. Western Roofing specializes in metal roofing, however, they can do any roofing job. For our needs, we chose to re-roof with composition shingles. After getting multiple quotes from Western Roofing and other Diamond Certified and Better Business Bureau's A+ rated companies, Western Roofing's bid was the lowest and fairest. It was very easy to schedule a free estimate. Jerry came, took measurements, and was able to give us an estimate on the spot. He was very friendly and took time to answer all of my questions. Jerry did not try to up-sell us any unnecessary products or warranties. The roof job was scheduled a week later after we accepted their bid! On the day of the job, a crew came at 7:30 AM and by 4:30 PM, the job was completed, and they were cleaning up. I was very impressed by the factory-trained roofers' attention to details and workmanship. We are now enjoying our beautiful roof! If you ever need a new roof, ask to speak to Jerry and tell him Luan send you!

We had very good experience with Don. He was extremely helpful, and followed through the entire process. Even though the price is higher than other quotes that I received, but definitely worth it. Roof is something that last for many many years, so the extra cost is worth more than a poor job. The poor experience from the other viewer must be from another sales person. Don was great. Ask for him.

We had a great experience with western roofing and Don was very helpful in educating us with the details and was pleasant to work with and was punctual in following up and answering all the questions. The metal roof we put in now looks nice and bright and brings smiles in our face when we look at. Thanks, Don. We even did some roof line change and he helped to get us in touch with a well qualifed contractor to complete that job and co-ordinated it with our roof change too. It was completed in time as promised and done neatly also..

I would recommend Don to everyone.. Hoep you'll have the same nice experience we had..

I am quite happy with my new metal roof that was installed early this month (Jan. 2011) by the Western Roof System at SAN LEANDRO, CA. Unlike many other roof companies, Toni or other people answered phone calls all the time during the office hours. And I was extremely glad to work with their sales person, Don. Don offered professional advice and was very patient to answer our questions. We paid a reasonal price to replace our old roof with the light and birght metal roof. It looks beautiful. After the whole project was done, I noticed some small issues, Don came to my house in weekend and fixed it by himself. I will recommend him to anybody who would need a new roof or need to fix a roof.
