I had built an arbor in my backyard and decided on using metal roofing to cover my BBQ area. The problem is that I wanted to match the metal roofing paint to the same green color as the clay S-tile of my house. I looked everywhere, including online. For a small job like mine (220 sq ft), most of the suppliers simply ignored me and gave me the cold shoulder. Running out of options, I found Western Roofing. They said they had some material in their yard that I was welcome to check out. It turned out that not only did they have the style I was looking for, but a near-exact match on the color. They even gave me a discount and the entire material cost was about $400. As a reference point, ABC Supply Co (Santa Cruz), the biggest joke of all, quoted me over $1900!!! Western helped me to load my truck, ensuring that my strapping was good for freeway driving from Watsonville to Santa Cruz. They even suggested where I could find green colored roofing screws. They were incredibly helpful!!!

Epilogue: I had one spare piece left over and brought back this (13' x 3') section to return. They said that their policy on metal roof material was a no return one, but then they said they could make an exception for a full refund (and no restocking fee). What more can I say about these guys. Great customer service and a real pleasure to deal with.

Went here because the other supply Company was so rude I just couldn't see spending any more money there. When I went in to this store they helped me immediately, took me to where the product was I needed, and gave me a suggestion on how to use it. I was checking out and asked him about a type of roofing and he gave me the rundown on the best materials and how much. Really helpful and friendly. I'll never go back to the jerks in mid county!!!

I live closer to another big roofing company near Live Oak, but they didn't want to sell me only a few roofing tiles and suggested that I call Western in Watsonville. They certainly did me a favor, as the short drive was rewarded with a clean and professional store far beyond my expectations. They took the time to explain to me how to replace ceramic Spanish style roofing tiles and then sold them to me for the trade price of only $1.95 each! I was sure that they were going to be at least twenty bucks each, before arriving. They even gave me a small assortment of the correct fasteners to use. A future project will involve removing all tiles along the eves and replacing partially rotted fascia boards, and I asked for a recommendation on a suitable worker for that job, without just hiring a giant roofing company. I now look forward to that job with a new enthusiasm. Even if you are not a Do It Yourself person, I highly suggest that anyone wanting a new roof visit their showroom BEFORE buying to look at their attractive display of materials and learn about roof options and also ask them to suggest someone for a quote, as not everyone in the roofing business treats customers as kindly as one would hope.
