Westech Roofing and Steve got the job done and then some. Our house has a new extension done about 13 years ago. But this new section of the roof started to leak about 1 year ago. I called Westech and another roofing company to come out to give me an estimate. Steve came out and gave me a written estimate within 2 days. But it took the other roofer 2 weeks to send me the estimate. After reviewing the estimes we picked Westech. There was a 2 weeks wait list but it was worth the wait. Steve and his crew replaced my roof and helped patched up other section of the roof that was not in the original contract. Thanks Steve!

Steve Hong and his thoroughly knowledgeable and competent WESTECH Roofing crew replaced our flat top roof, reinforcing it for planned solar panel installation and correcting a structural drainage problem in the process. They installed new drain outlets, roof jacks, chimneys and a skylight, and torch sealed all the seams. The crew arrived on schedule, worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. I am very happy with their attention to details and diligence. I'm more than pleased with their work, overall, and would happily recommend WESTECH for your roofing needs.

Steve Hong came, gave me a reasonable estimate, and the work was well done. He manages a competent staff. Some have worked for him for many years and this is a testament to their workmanship as well as how he treats his employees. He checks on their work afterwards to ensure there are no issues later on. That is a win-win situation. I have since asked him to do other properties.

Steve and Westech replaced our roof last December. I should note, it's barely rained since then, so I can't 100% attest as to its performance.

That being said, every step of the process was ideal. Steve was the most genial and professional of the people we had come out to bid. The price was competitive.

All contact with the central office was quick and professional (emailing bid, signed contract, etc.). The job itself took two days and Steve was regularly supervising/participating with the crew, who were all cool. My wife thought they had gotten some spots of adhesive or something spattered on the front windows, and I asked them to go back up and clean that off, which they happily did although I'm pretty sure it was not from them at all.

They followed up with a call eight months later to see how things are doing. Which prompted me to write this review, since I remembered how smoothly things had gone before.

Steve Hong is a very nice, honest-seeming guy who I believe does good work, and he and his office were a pleasure to deal with and kept all their promises. That said, I take issue with his business practice and must dock him two stars.

During the recent storms I experienced bad water leakage into my garage. I called Summit, Steve came out promptly, looked at my roof (problem was mostly a blown drainage pipe) and told me it would take 3 guys one day to fix. His office sent me a proposal the next morning - not cheap, but not outrageous - which I signed, and we set things up for the following morning.

They (Steve plus 2 other workers) showed up on schedule at around 8:15, and got right to work. They were done at 11:30 and Steve asked for payment. I asked if there would be a discount, because the quote had been for a full day. He said no, that he had already paid his workers for a full day's work. He also said that if the job had taken more than a day, he would have abided by the original quoted price. That's nice but it doesn't apply to my job.

So that's the story. Again, he was a nice guy, seems professional etc. (I will find out in the next rains whether he did a proper job) and I am not angry, but I believe he should have discounted his price as the job took 3 hours instead of 8 hours. I give all this detail out of fairness to Steve, and because other people might disagree with me: you can make your own judgment. For example, you could say that I paid for the task getting done, and their internal labor time is their own business - but it still doesn't feel quite right to me.

Westech is my first choice. I first used Westech 7 years ago, and just recently for my mom's house. Steve and his team are pros, at a fair price. I really appreciate his thoroughness in assessing the condition of the existing roof and pipes before work, and then make clear recommendations of the work needed. He even took photos from his phone before and after the work. I highly recommend Westech to my friends and family.

Westech might do quality work, but I never had a chance to find out. Called to get an estimate on a skylight replacement, was told it would be a few $100 and I should pull the old one off and call Westech back. They would build a new skylight in 2-3 days.
A few days later when I had removed the old skylight and called back, I was now told that it would be well over $1000 and would take WEEKS to get a new skylight installed. Was left stranded with a huge hole in my roof and rain coming. I found another roofer. Very disapointed.

Westech put a new roof on my house in December 2013. They demo'd the old tar and gravel roof which had several leaks and put on a new bitumen roof. Steve (the owner) was excellent to work with, professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Susan the office manager was equally as helpful and easy to work with. All around a fantastic experience from a solid roofing company. Their price was very competitive, they did the job in a timely manner, arrived and finished when they said they would and the quality of work is stellar. I wish every service provider operated like Westech!

Steve (Owner) was really knowledgeable and experienced. The roof was top notch in quality of execution. They were in and out in a very timely manner. His level of professionalism really drove the decision for us. His follow up was good too,

My only complaint was that we have a small but dense evergreen tree in the front of the house, and they forgot to cover it . . . and thus it had lots of nails and roofing materials stuck in it afterwards (which I just cleaned up).

I'd definitely call him again.
