We had our foam roof recoated this past week.
I was really impressed by the professionalism, courtesy, and quality of work that was done. They we're on time, friendly, and responsive to my concerns and questions. I would hire them again and be unhesitating in recommending them to others.
We recently had our roof replaced and Solar installed by Wedge Roofing. I question their ethics since they tacked on a change order for work that should have been included in the overall price. If you decide to work with them beware. They will overcharge you and then they will find a way to tack on another couple thousand dollars in change orders.
It took them several months to finally schedule the installation.
They also promised enough roof area for solar panels and then, after the contract was signed, informed me that there was not enough room for all the needed panels.
Overall, not impressed. Shop around and beware before doing business with these guys.
Andrew L.Billy Oudette came out and looked at our roof and recommended a repair and maintenance. He was professional and thoughtful in his evaluation of the roof. We ended up going with another company for scheduling reasons, but in follow up calls with Billy, I appreciated his honesty and professionalism. They strike me as a company with a lot of integrity and very good on the follow through.
Last week during high winds, we heard a big bang on our house. I was concerned that part of our roof or a vent had come loose. Since Wedge Roofing did such a nice job replacing our roof two years ago, I decided to contact them to check out our roof for damage. Within one hour of my call, the original estimator for our roof repair (Billy Quellette) called to say he would be at our house within an hour. Billy checked out our roof and found it to be in perfect shape. What a relief. Great service Billy.
Wedge Roofing replaced an existing roof on our home; the workers came on time, were knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, went beyond to protect our property and that of the surrounding neighbors and cleaned up without a trace. An impressive well oiled machine.
Wedge just completed the re coating of our foam roof today. Workers showed up on time, completed work on the schedule they gave us and cleaned up after themselves. A superintendent came out a couple of days later to check on the roof and do some touch up, etc.
The proposal was accurate, no surprises. Could not be happier.
Worked with Wedge for a couple of years on maintenance and they always came through when needed.
And they do both foam and composite roofs
Matthew R.Wedge were very responsive with my initial inquiries. They are obviously a successful and popular company as they are backed up with existing work for three months. Always a good sign.
Tarry visited and was very candid with his advice. So refreshing and old school, honest company.
I recently used Wedge for a somewhat complex job. I was having solar panels installed concurrent with the new roof and I also added insulation after Wedge stripped off the old roof but before they put on the new surface. The job was scheduled a few weeks ago when thunderstorms appeared in Sonoma County, throwing a huge wrench in the works. FYI, Wedge wanted to delay the job to avoid any chance of my roof/house getting damaged but we came up with a plan that kept the house safe and dry and the project on schedule.
I do have two items for others to be aware of. We had a slight miscommunication about who would fix the dry rot and a couple other items. Make sure it's clear to everyone who is going to take care of those sorts of items. This wasn't their fault and had to do with trying to get three projects done at once. Also, when Tarry told me there was an additional charge to waterproof the solar panel mounts I was a bit taken aback. However, I was on the roof for much of the job and they really earned the extra money on those solar mounts. Their crew put a considerable amount of time and effort into the mounts so I understand why there's an additional charge.
I highly recommend Wedge and would not hesitate to call them again. Everyone on their crew was professional, thorough, polite, and they picked up every last bit of debris after the job. I wish I could say the same for the other two vendors.
Oct 9 Update. Sadly, their quality work was destroyed in the horrific fire today.
Stephen M.Determination and persistence in obtaining the highest quality result is something to which most businesses aspire but rarely provide. Wedge Roofing manages to achieve it through the almost super-human effort and the dedication of it's team. After considerable research, I decided I wanted to replace my aging redwood shake roof with stone-coated metal. Without wading into the pros and cons of that decision, I think everyone agrees that metal roofs are more complex and difficult to install than almost any alternative. Cutting, bending, aligning and piecing it all together with almost 10,000 screws is no easy task. After deciding on metal my biggest concern was finding a roofing contractor with the experience and commitment to meet what I thought and still think was a daunting project. I researched and interviewed many. From my first encounter to their last day on the job, Wedge inspired and ultimately earned my trust in their work, my confidence in their process and even my affection for their crew. A nicer, more considerate, more determined team is difficult for me to imagine. Two representatives of the manufacturer of the metal roofing (Gerard) visited the project and were effusive in their praise. While that must certainly have pleased Wedge I always felt like it was my expectations and views that were paramount. I could not be more pleased with the results. I suspect I will always look at that roof with a measure of gratitude for Wedge. If Gerard's stone-coated metal is even half as good as Wedge's installation of it, that should be a long time.
My new foam roof is great! I have an exposed beam ceiling with no insulation, and the foam roof has made a huge difference. It's been a month since installation and we've had both cold, foggy weather and a heat wave in Mill Valley. The house retained heat and wasn't drafty in the cold and was easily 5-10+ degrees cooler during the heat wave. Terry Odgers came out in February to bid on the project and was extremely informative of my choices regarding improvements to my gutter system and options for replacing a skylight. He was honest and weighed the pros and cons and never tried to over sell me.
The late rains this year caused scheduling to be delayed, communication was clear and professional. The guys that did the job were professional, clean, communicative and a pleasure to have around. I highly recommend Wedge Roofing.
