During the last rains in Sacramento... I had a leak in my front bathroom.. I new that my neighbor (Travis) company could help me. Spoke with Tom at Weatherguard Roofing... He had Travis come out diagnose problem and fix. I now have a great dependable Roofing company... and I would highly recommend them to everybody...
Thank you from Todd Los Angeles

I am posting another review about the quality of service provided by Tom Jackson and his staff because my previous reviews have not warranted appropriate consideration by Yelp and I find that disturbing. Weatherguard roofing service excels in meeting & exceeding the customer's needs; Tom Jackson is timely in responding to requests for inspections & is competitive in providing bids for necessary work; any work scheduled is done on time & at the bid amount, there are no surprises for the customer. It is a pleasure working with such a professional, competent, ethical individual and company.

Great service, price and experience. First off, i know everyone has negative experiences from time to time, but apparently we have different views of Tom the owner. Maybe this other review is from their competition as their review states some examples that only people in that profession would know. As an Elite Yelper, i see that from time to time and its sad.

Anyway, Tom and his team were very professional in our consultation and i never felt ""pressured"" to buy or pursue any service they had to offer. Once the services were agreed too, the work got scheduled and done immediately and on time. There weren't any additional add ons after, and they didn't try to sell me anything additional. It was completed in a timely manner and i felt at that time and still feel confident in the work and price i paid. I compared a ton of places, and i am happy i chose Tom and Weatherguard. Class act and easy experience all around. And there was follow up after the job was complete, but it was never random. He would check in to say hello and inspect the work and ensure he answered any follow up questions i had thereafter.

Understand that when you spend money on your home, you want to feel confident and comfortable with those that are doing the work. I was treated like friends and family and will ensure i recommend them to all my friends and family going forward.
Job well done.

The customer service I received from Weatherguard Roofing Services was incredibly bad and the owner, Tom Jackson, is a horrible person. Because of him I will never use a contractor or any other home repair related company again that is not recommended by a friend or coworker. It is really sad that companies like this are still operating.

When Tom first came to my house to do an estimate for roof repair he seemed a little off. He immediately tried talking me into getting a new roof BEFORE HE INSPECTED IT to which I replied, ""Well are you going to get on the roof and look at it?"" I really should have known better, but went ahead and scheduled the work because the price was reasonable and he was available.

On the day of the scheduled repair one of Tom's workers showed up (40 minutes late) and said that Tom told him to come and start tearing shingles off my roof. He then started asking me where the shingles should be torn off. Now call me crazy but shouldn't the person who did the estimate instruct his workers were to start, especially if they are working under his license? In fact, shouldn't they be there to do the job as promised? I refused to let them start working until Tom got there and when he did he was very rude and said that he drew them a schismatic so they would know where to start. Well, if that was the case then the workers shouldn't have asked me where to start.

When the workers finished the job I asked about payment and if Tom was going to inspect the work and they said he would contact me. I inspected the work and it was shoddy. The seal on the rain collar wasn't done properly, the wood they replaced was rough, and the shingles that were replaced in the back of the house were uneven. I contacted Tom about this and asked him to come out and inspect. I called, emailed, called, emailed and nothing. When Tom finally got back to me he gave me a very hard time about coming to inspect the work. He claimed that he didn't always inspect his jobs (which is illegal) and that I could just mail the payment in. To add insult to injury he hung up on me before the call was over, WHILE I was still talking. It actually took about 2 weeks to get him to come out and look at the issues. He agreed to have workers come and fix everything, but again they did a bad job. To seal the rain collar they just slopped on a bunch of tar and to fix the uneven shingles they just tore a bunch off. I contacted Tom again wanting to know what exactly had been done because I did not like the way they ""fixed"" things and like before I contacted multiple times without response.

About 2 weeks later he showed up at my house in the middle of the day unannounced. My partner was there to answer the door and he was extremely rude. I talked to him on the phone while he was at my house and asked him why on earth he would show up without permission, to which he responded, ""Yeah well I am going on vacation and decided to stop over."" WHAT, who does that???? I voiced my concerns about the way they ""fixed"" the issues and he kept saying over and over that the ""job was done"" making it clear that he would not fix anything and of course as always was extremely rude. I am very unhappy with the work Tom and Weatherguard Roofing did at my house. I caution anyone from hiring this company to do work. Not only is Tom a nightmare, but they do shoddy work and don't follow basic good contractor's rules of conduct.
