Walnut Creek Roofing
Company Overview
Our team performs roof assessments for real estate purposes, to ensure homeowners feel secure, or before you set up solar panels.
We do not provide new roof installations, so our goal is not to sell you a new roof. That said, we might highlight why a new roof could be necessary in the near future, but you will need to contact other professionals for the replacement. We do our best to suggest a few contractors who can manage replacements if needed.
We take care of leak repairs across a wide variety of roofing systems. Founded in 1981, CA License #537679 was granted to our corporation in 1988. Since 1992, we have operated from our current location in Martinez.
Jason entered the roofing industry in 1996, working in distribution and manufacturing as a sales representative and technical trainer. In 2006, he acquired WCR from Pat Crowe. At times, I receive more calls than I can manage; I apologize if I cannot return your call, as every call is important to me.

Jason came out and took a look at an area of my roof were I knew I had a leak. He did some calking and cleaned my roof and gutters, in total he was here for about an hour.
He did not solve the problem and charged me a little over $500. What he did tell me was that he felt the roof area in question did not have the correct slope, thus water was sitting on my roof too long thus possibly seeping in to my wall causing the damage.
After sitting on this information and some other things Jason said a couple days I decided that Jason was probably doing a lot a of talking and little work. So I called another company, they came out and found out that some step flashing was falling about 2"" short of where it should have ended. This was causing the leak.
I would consider other options before signing any contract with Walnut Creek Roofing.
Andrew N.We spoke with Jason over the phone. He was a very friendly guy and spent time to really listen to our roofing needs. He jumped onto google maps right away and started looking at our home for an initial impression. Our roof needed specialized work that Jason wasn't able to do however, he was able to refer us to someone that we were very happy with. We were grateful for his time and his detailed explanations of what we needed. We wouldn't mind going with him for other roofing needs in the future.
Helen P.Jason did not actually do work on our roof, but after getting quotes from several other companies (for about the same amount, $1500), he was the first person to tell me point blank that the cost of repair probably wasn't worth it and we should save our money for the full replacement that was inevitable in the not-too-distant future. The roof isn't leaking (yet) but has some concerns that our home inspector flagged. Five stars for being very honest about the value of the repair and not just trying to make a buck. He also generously shared his time and expertise on the phone, and shared tips about how to extend the life of our aging roof. If you are are looking for an inspector during a real estate sale, I highly recommend Jason.
Bob W.Jason is a very pleasant person who did an exceptional job repairing 4 cracked tiles, and replacing one tile on our roof.
I had received his name from a roofing company, and when I talked to him on the phone, I knew he was the right man for the job.
CK T.This company came over within an hour of calling them. He charges $95 to give a estimate. That money goes towards the final bill if he does the work you need done. He has a contract you sign and he begins the work. Hes a nice guy, he explains the problem clear and to the point. Doesnt mess arond and gets right to work.
I had a leak in my study and i didnt want it to get more wet and turn to mold. He looked inside the study then on the roof. Apparently there were leaves built up around ghe skylight allowing water to build up underneath the leaves and some flashing was not done correctly. He blew off the leaves from the roof, fixed the flashing and violka, no more leaking.
He only does repairs, no roof installs.
I would call this company for any more roof repairs I would have in the future.
I called Walnut Creek Roofing for fixing some rotted fascia boards around the roof. Because we have metal roofing, Jason referred us to Western Sierra who is certified with metal roofing. He was knowledgeable about what should be done to fix the issue and talked me through the details over the phone even though he knew I wouldn't be one of his customers due to the roof material. He shared his opinions on various roof related issues and gave me suggestions. We talked over the phone for almost 20 mins. He is just a super nice guy that very pleasant to talk to. I wish I could be his customer.
Called Jason at the recommendation of a Solar installer. Jason no longer does ""full roof replacements"", but rather just Repairs & Inspections. Too bad for us (we wanted a full roof replace). Jason was very honest and provided me all kinds of great information regarding our replacement. What to watch out for, what the materials should be for Code, etc. I have this guy on my speed dial for any future repairs.
Great common sense. I called to get a roof inspection prior to adding solar. Jason asked some questions about the house, how we use it, and how long we expect to stay. ""Why do solar?"" he asked. ""In your situation the economics aren't very attractive."" Gave me a lot of fresh ideas for thinking about the project.
Vladimir G.Jason did a roof inspection for me and follow up repair after I bought the house. He was able to schedule repair pretty fast and he explain every detail of what he was going to do. I'll definitely use him again and recommend to everyone in this area.
Cathy T.I was blown away by the service Jason Paulsen, owner of Walnut Creek Roofing gave my clients and me. We were in escrow, with an insane deadline, and had to have the new roof on or the buyers would lose their loan lock. Jason dealt with both buyers and sellers to be sure the roof was the perfect choice, and then he orchestrated it all in record time. He was amazingly patient and helpful. His prices are great, too. I sing Jason's and Walnut Creek Roofing's praises to my partners and my clients! You rock!
