I gave united roofing company a deposit on12/28/23 they didn't finish a job till 2/14/24 Using this company was a huge mistake. It was a complete nightmare with one lie after another Lior the owner of the company told me there would always be someone on the worksite that didn't happen. He told me that any replacement roof tiles would be placed on the rear of the house so from the street you would not be able to see any new roof tiles that didn't happen. My roof is gray they were replacing it with used brown tiles looked horrible, I go to work when it's dark and I come home after it's dark so I really have to wait till the weekend to see what they've done when they started and took off the old roof. Lior told me they had to replace seven sheets of plywood so when I came home I went up on the roof with a flashlight to see and I couldn't find one replace sheet of plywood when I called him and I told him I was up there and didn't see any replaced plywood. He Then told me I didn't tell you I replaced seven sheets of plywood. I just told you I bought seven sheets of plywood another lie. They did replace about four pieces of wood on the edge of the roof that I had pointed out were rotten. I had to keep pointing out, broken roof tiles that they were putting back on that they needed to replace. There were nails protruding a half inch out from the eve of the roof, that goes all the way around the house . They were trying to tell me that was normal that was a lie. I had to make them cut them all off, my house is two stories when he had told me that there was only a couple hours of work left. I went out to inspect again and found that Almost all the ridge roof tiles that go along the edge of the roof all the way to the top of the house on both sides had no nails holding them in place. They had just put one on top of the other on a windy day they could easily be blown off and possibly kill somebody, so I brought that to his attention and he told me well they weren't done yet another lie. It was so bad that at the end of the month I told them they were not allowed to be on my property Monday through Friday they had to come on Saturday and Sunday when I was at home so I can keep an eye on what they were doing. and they never cleaned up after themselves when they were done every day when I came home, there was trash around my house for the tire time they were doing the work. I'm good friends with most of my neighbors and even they would say why does your roof look different colors, so Lior and I got into a few heated arguments as you could imagine. It got to the point where I told him for now on we are only going to communicate by text so I can have on record everything that we spoke about. He told me I was just too picky and I said why because I don't want different colored tiles I don't want broken tiles. I don't want nails protruding from my roof and I want all the roof tiles held down with nails so they don't get blown away during windy weather and for them to clean up after themselves every day when they were done. Talking to Lior and his wife prior to even starting the job, I let them know about my concern of it possibly raining. There's no roof on my house wood they both reassured me that they're always monitoring the weather and if it was going to rain while I had no roof on, they would come and put a tarp to protect my house, after they began the project they had removed all the ceramic tile and it was just wood and we were waiting for the inspector to inspect the roof and give us the OK. I had seen on the news in a couple of days there was a chance of rain. I brought it to their attention and Lior told me don't worry about it. He's monitoring it. He never put a tarp on my roof when I woke up to go to work in the morning it was raining pretty hard for about an hour and a half I had videotaped the rain and then I texted him the video and I let him know how upset I was about it. There was some water that came into my house. Luckily it didn't do any damage Lior's response to me was he's not God and he can't control the weather and if it doesn't say at least 20% chance of rain he doesn't worry about it but that's not what he told me prior to me giving him the deposit for the job, after much arguing and going back-and-forth and stressful days, they did take care of most of my issues, although I still have some brown tiles on the backside of my house that don't match. I just wanted the nightmare to end. I have some rental properties and from time to time I have to get contractorsto do certain jobs on my apartments and never have I ever had a bad experience anywhere even remotely close to this. There's more to it but I'm not gonna bore you with more details. I've never left a review, but I felt this time I should.

They came out and inspected my roof where there was a leak. They are coming out next week to make the repair. Very professional organization, on time and the inspection was very detailed. When making the appointment they talked me out of spending more for an emergency repair as the rain event was almost over and the leak seemed to be minor. I will provide a further update after the repair.

During a rain storm the roof on my 1950's home began leaking into my living room, as well as near my attic heater, and of course it began around 6:45 PM after most places had closed. Well, I got the buckets towels and began praying. However, it started spreading and I became really worried.
I used Google and searched for after hours roof repair. In the search I stumbled upon United Roofing California Inc, and low and behold it showed they didn't close until 10PM.
I telephoned and a really nice lady by the name of Eden answered. I told her my issue and she was very helpful, understanding, and assured me she would get me some help and to expect a call from the Owner Lior. Lior called within seconds and advised he would send a technician out as soon as possible. I received a call from Aaron who gave me an ETA of approximately an hour. Aaron showed up sooner than expected and went up on the slippery wet roof in the rain. Aaron discovered that the sealant around a roof vent had cracked and caused a gap that was causing the leak. Aaron patched the vent and also around my attic heater pipe, then stapled a tarp over the vent. Both Lior and Aaron came back the next day to check on the repair, but told me my roof was at the end of its life. This wasn't ""some scam line."" It really was and I knew all too well as I had a leak three years earlier in the kitchen. The house had last been shingled in the 1990's by one of the previous owners. Well we're supposed to have El Ninõ conditions soon and didn't want to take a chance of more leaking in a heavier storm.
Lior wrote down and gave me an estimate that same day. I told him thank you but I intended to get some quotes from other contractors before I made a decision. Lior wasn't pressuring, was respectful and encouraged me to do so.
I called five different companies, and two of them wouldn't work in the City of Lakewood because of new regulations on roofing in respect to recycling. I was curious about these ""new rules,"" so I went to the city and acted like I was going to do the job myself as owner/builder. I found out the city requires a green recycling waste plan online requiring you recycle the debris at an approved site, and in addition needed a photo of the license plate of the truck or bin rental company before they issued a building permit. I could understand why the other companies wouldn't work in Lakewood. After receiving the quotes for the other three companies which were all in the same ballpark I decided to hire United Roofing California Inc as they had earned my trust through their communication with me. I could tell right off that Lior was the type of person who wanted one of his jobs done perfectly and not hastily or sloppily.
I was already satisfied they came quickly in an emergency while it was raining, and the price of the repair was deducted from the cost of the new roof.
During the re-roofing process it was discovered the house originally came with wood shingles which were papered over with green asphalt shingles probably sometime in the 1960's-1970's. Those shingles were covered over with another set of gray asphalt shingles in the 1990's. The old wood shingles broke like Balsa Wood, the green shingles cracked like a cookie, the old felt paper could be crushed into dust, and the top gray shingles could be easily torn in two. In addition I had very little insulation in the attic and none over a portion of the living room.
Lior was informative, communicated with me frequently, and would always be available by phone and in person to answer any questions I had. The work crews under Gustavo that came were professional, clean, and friendly, and Jesus and his Father worked on a Saturday longer than expected to finish up the shingles and did a fantastic job. Gustavo and Jesus were also very informative when I asked them questions. The job wasn't cheap by any stretch, but I don't think you would want to go cheap with something as important as a roof over your house. I certainly didn't and felt it an important investment. I have never had a big job like this done to my house, but I knew I wanted quality as well as a company/owner who was always communicating with me. I received both. In my case my house needed all new decking, attic insulation, and new cool roof shingles. United Roofing Ca Inc uses all Owen's Corning Products, and nothing else, so it's all top quality material.
All in all United Roofing Ca Inc exceeded my expectations
for me on my roof that will now most likely last 50 years. It was a great investment.
If you decide on using United Roofing California Inc, you will not be disappointed. They're a family owned company who care about their quality of work and their customers satisfaction. The work is guaranteed with a warranty. Lior was honest with me from the start and there were no ""hidden charges.""
On a side note. If you live in Lakewood Ca make sure the cool roof shingles you choose have an SRI rating of 20 and above
