We are so happy to have hired James Pak and his lead man, Javier, to replace our 30 yr old flat roof and a connected secondary lightwell roof. We chose United Roofing because 1.) James Pak helped us diagnose the root cause of the source of a leak inside the house. 2.) We compared 3 estimates and their px fell in the middle 3.) now that the roofing work is done ( total of 3 days ) and we have seen their workmanship and professionalism first hand, we got what we paid for-- a roof with top notch materials to last for decades. As a case in point, Javier and crew ripped our main and lightwell roof down to the wood frame and when they noticed that the rain drainage pipe was aged and not properly functioning, they recommended having the issue fixed once and for all, leaving no chance of a problem down the road. They are thorough and conscientious in their approach to work.

Hired them to do my roof. When they got to it they were fast and so far no noticeable leaks. Got several estimates. Got quite a few in 2022 and several more at end of 23'. His was second best price but much lower than most. All in all, when it was all over I am very happy with the new roof. Also wanted gutter guards and they got them on toot sweet as well. So for now I will give 5 stars cause I feel generous and am very happy with new roof thus far. Oh ya my homeowners insurance went down $300 because of it as well. So smiles all around.

United Roofing was recommended to me by a contractor I respect. The company has been in business since 1989 serving the whole SF Bay Area, State License #577950, which is demonstrated by the way they operate. My job was in San Francisco. From permit application to final inspection was timely. The construction manager Javier was skilled, efficient and communicated clearly to answer any questions. I felt he had a real desire to please. He explained how I could prepare my attic for the most protection. The crew left grounds very clean and very carful to protect my apple and lemon tree which I appreciated very much, as stated in the contract.
My gardener remarked that the site was cleaner than she had seen from other roofing jobs where she gardens.
The crew arrived on time and worked continuous to complete the job quickly, I asked for copper flashing which they were wiling l to add as a change order to go with my copper gutters. My skylights were carefully flashed. I was proud of the look when the job was complete.

I had a wonderful experience with United Roofing! My parents' home in SF was in need of a long overdue roof replacement. I had sent out multiple inquiries to different roofing companies to get assessments and bids. Out of all of the companies, James was the most responsive and flexible. My father had built a covering over the central patio that he plans on replacing eventually. All of the other roofers required discarding it to do the work, but James was the only one who said he would remove it, have the roof done, then replace it. The warranties and guarantees were comparable across the board.
Communications with James was prompt, courteous, and professional. He was the first one to respond to my inquiry (same day). He was able to schedule to visit the property quickly. He provided a detailed estimate of the work the same day. He was able to get the work scheduled quickly as well before the rains hit this season. Although I live elsewhere, facilitating the project remotely was so easy with James. Every point of communication via text, email, or phone was clear, prompt, and polite. Having excellent communication is so important and James was so responsive.
The work itself was done in 3 days, the roofers cleaned up after each day, and the before and after pics are like night and day.
The entire process was seamless from start to finish and my parents are so happy with the results. The only regret I have is not having found James earlier when we had to have our own roof replaced earlier this year. If anyone needs a roofer, I'll definitely refer them to United Roofing!

Reached out to James at United Roofing to replace our roof on the coast. He was extremely professional and prompt during the quoting process. The crew showed up on time everyday and knocked the project out in under a week. They were extreme tidy and cleaned up the workspace everyday before leaving. They even went above and beyond with repairs and add-ons without price gouging. United replaced all our vent caps, chimney cap, spark arrestor, and installed seamless gutters with down spouts. We were able to get a better quality roof with a longer warranty than the competition at a lower price. Couldn't be happier with the outcome!

WE hired UNITED ROOFING to replace our roof, in the Sunset District of San Francisco, after interviewing more than 8 Bay Area Roofers and Insulation specialists.
They did an outstanding job, in just 3 days at a competitive price.
WE ASKED for a new roof that will add to the INSULATION of the house:
- they were the ONLY one proposing adding a layer of 1"" fiberglass base sheet insulation material before the bitumen.
WE ASKED to make the roof WHITE, for better solar reflection: they proposed using a bitumen membrane ""granulated surface with your choice of color"" !
WE ASKED that a vent be moved 2 feet to the South, to clear more roof space for the future installation of SOLAR panels. NO PROBLEM, they said!
WE ASKED that the pitch roof on the front of the house and the porch be covered with red tiles: Yes, we can do it, they said. We will use ""S"" tiles, they are the best...
They also replaced ALL vents and pipe flashing, AND the downspouts in the front and back of the unit.
James and Javier and his team of 4 were friendly, professionals, and left a perfectly clean place.
James added that he will come back after the SOLAR panel installation, for an extra inspection, so we keep our 20-year manufacturer's warranty and 10 years leakage's warranty.

We called United Roofing to get an estimate on a redecking of our (modified bitumen) roof per a request by a solar panel supplier. James came, inspected our roof, and returned with a refreshingly candid conclusion: our current roof was just fine and did not need to be replaced at this time. We really appreciated his honesty, since we'd like to forgo an unnecessary roof renovation and just bank the money for when we really need to replace it. United Roofing will be the first company we reach out to when it's time to replace our roof!

If a quote was sent after inspecting the roof and giving a very thorough assessment of the problems, I might have given them the business. After numerous attempts to contact Mr. Pak, I was able to get one return call stating a quote would be sent. It never was. I gave up after two weeks of leaving messages and texts. I did not want to beg for a quote.

They didn't do the work, just came out for estimates. First he missed our original appointment, and later when he came he was very rude and unhelpful to my husband, and we had to ask him to leave shortly.

James, from United Roofing, gave me the best estimate for my flat roof here in San Francisco and he thoroughly explained what was needed. What was cool is that he would be using non traditonal Tar-and-Gravel which I have had on previous roofing work. I decided to go with United Roofing.

James and his crew replaced my roof in May when we ain't had much rain in quite awhile. The work was done in a timely matter and although I did look over everything (but what the H do I know about roofing...lol) and everything seem fine, I was still uncertain as to possible leakage if/when we get some heavy rain.

Well, the long awaited and needed heavy rain came last week and no leaks anywhere!! Whew!! So unless there are any problems in the future, I am very happy with the roof work performed by James and his crew.
