I got an estimate from Peter on a new roof, and he was honest in telling me that I did not need to replace the roof now, even though it's 25 years old. His bid also included some less expensive options that would save me money without compromising the life or integrity of the roof.

I decided to replace the roof anyway because I'm installing solar panels, and used another roofer mainly because of timing (Peter could not get to me in time for the solar installation). However, I was very impressed with Peter's honesty, professionalism, and responsiveness to my numerous questions. If, right now, you are doing what I did - searching Yelp! for a highly reviewed roofing company - look no further. Peter is *exactly* what you want in a tradesperson: responsive, reliable, honest and does great work. I live abroad and every trip home involves undertaking maintenance on my elderly Mom's house. My trips are short and pressurised. Peter was able to come over within a few days of contact via Yelp! There were a few aspects to this job not to mention very tricky access at the back of the house (downspout needed replacing) due to the location of my Mom's house. He sent me three clear, reasonable quotes before I left the country and gave me honest advice about the parts of the job that I could do later (we are not flush with cash). We were able to book the job in via email with a family member providing access on the day. He turned up with his guys on time and completed the work exactly within the time frame he stated and sent me photos on the day. Highly, highly recommend him and will definitely have him back to replace the skylights when I have the money.

Highly recommend this company and not only for the quality of the work, but for the fact the owner, Peter Choung, is there with his guys all day to ensure the highest quality control. I live a couple blocks from the beach in the outer sunset, where aluminum turns to dust and galvanized metal completely rusts through within 20 yrs, and Peter was able to offer copper roof flashings, bronze skylights, as well as all the other vents for my roof made out of copper.

I also had solar installed just after the roof was completed, and Peter did not charge me extra for waiting for the solar company to install the mounts, as well as the added work of sealing the copper flashings that go around the solar supports.

I had a lot of delays due to another siding project that had to be completed first, and Peter had no issue rescheduling me back to a time for me to finish the other project (twice). Another item that sets UL Roofing apart from other roofing work that I've seen done, was the fact they wrapped and sealed my cast iron plumbing vent pipes to stop further corrosion.

I can't say enough about this company and the fact that I will refer them in a heartbeat to anyone that needs roofing work in the salty corrosive areas of San Francisco.

New owner cuts corners. Don't recommend this company. He promised the same looks of the roof, but he Failed to do it. The new roof leaked even more. We had to hire a new roofer to do all over. No one wanted to fix that leak.

UL Roofing did an amazing, thorough job with our roof replacement project.
Peter and his team were the only group among six other companies I contacted who showed up on time for our initial price estimate appointment.
Peter was also very responsive to our questions and extra requests and I was impressed with his patience.
We actually forgot to inform him before starting the project that we installed a new drain pipe that we wanted him to attach to the new gutters. But he was willing to return a week later to finish that part with no extra charge.
Overall, UL Roofing gave us the best price for our project as well as a great experience. I highly recommend them if you want a respectful, punctual, hard working team.
