I am up in Fall River Mills, CA. About 1.5 hours away from Tugwell. There are virtually no roofers up my way so I was calling around in the Redding area to see if I could entice someone to come estimate my job. And, I needed a bunch of wood repair. in the eves, facia and rafters. So I needed someone who could do that work in a quality manner.

Tugwell was willing to make the trip.

At first glance their price seemed to be a bit expensive. BUT, I figured that a) I didn't have too man choices and b) it was 1.5 hour drive each way for each of the days they were going to be working. And, it included the estimated work for the wood repair/replacement.

Tugwell worked with the county to obtain my permit. Easy button.

The day came and they arrived early. Full crew of 6 men. They had the roof off, and were starting repairs the first day. Day two was full repairs including some custom facia work. They also had about 1/2 of the new under sheathing back on the house.

Day 3 was a half day. All the wood replacement was in. Full new roof in place complete with new roof vents. It would have been done in two days if it wasn't for the extra wood repair work my job required.

Oh, and the custom wood repair and replacement came in less than their original bid, and they gave me the $ back!

I can say this, I was warned by friends on how messy a job roofing is. Tugwell was not that way. They kept the job site clean as they worked. Every day they cleaned up 100% and even used brooms and blowers to make sure it was spotless.

The crew were super nice and personable. The worked hard. They kept the job site clean. And the price was slightly less than the original budget.

I can't recommend Tugwell Roofing enough - 5 stars!!

I will never recommend this company to anyone I know needing a new roof or even simple repairs. From lack of safety for the workers (a man fell off my roof and broke his jaw), to taking care of my property as a whole, they are horrible. They left raw edges on my fascia with zero communication that doing so exposes the wood to the elements which can lead to rot. So now fixing this is in addition the the 26k I spent. They also failed to inform me a board on my soffit was broken/half missing and just continued to lay sheathing which is visible from the ground. No suggestion to replace the board, they just didn't say anything at all. They also replaced all but 6 of the 4'6"" on my gable ends. It was mentioned to me that they planned to replace every other one, and flip the ones they didn't replace. This never happened. When I asked about the obvious error, Mike told me it was too much work for his men, so they just didn't do what they said they would. The crew also broke a board on my side gate, and instead of telling me what happened, they tossed the broken piece behind my sprinkler valves to (I'm only guessing here) try to hide it? I had to find this out on my own and they did not offer to repair the damaged board. The amount of garbage left behind when it was all said and done was not a significant amount, however an entire broken rake was tossed in my yard and not cleaned, and all the metal tines that fell off were stashed behind my condenser unit. I had to check to make sure none fell inside the actual unit, because it would be another expense they caused that I'd be responsible for. Tugwell was fantastic. They saved me a ton of money and helped me with an insurance claim. I got several quotes and Tugwell was one of the most competitive. Dan & Mike were both very easy to work with. My whole roof was done in 3 days. Great service and I highly recommend Tugwell.

We had our roof installed by Tugwell just over a month ago. We were so pleased with the entire process. Initially, David, their estimator, arrived on time, was thorough and honest. It did take some time to finally have all the work scheduled since they are so busy right now. Once it was scheduled everything ran smoothly. The project leader, Cody, was very good with communication and kept us informed during the tear-off and installation. The work crews were professional and fast! I was amazed that the roof installation only took one day. After all the work was completed both David and Cody followed up with us. I highly recommend Tugwell Roofing's services. We had an amazing roof job done by tugwell. From tare off to clean up,the whole job was completed and looks amazing! Never found one nail or scrap of trash in my yard! I would highly recommend them to anyone!
