I would suggest folks read the negative reviews because they match some of my experience. I would prefer not throwing anyone under the bus, but folks might be interested to know about potential problems. Here is my experience: The staff are all personable and I liked speaking with Deede and Claudia in the office. Claudia's phone was generally full and unable to take messages. I found texting was the best way to leave a message. If Dede wasn't available, a message stated that the call would be returned. I like Stewart James who came to my house to look at the four skylights and provide cost, contract, warranty, delivery, information. I paid half the installation cost 7/9/2019. After a long time when the skylights were not installed, I learned that the wrong size had been delivered, and the correct size was then ordered. It is not clear who was responsible. This was during the heavy rains; perhaps Vellux was unable to keep up with the demand because the order took a long tIme. Stewart James sometimes returns phone calls, and some appointments were neither kept nor was I informed. He was late sometimes as well. When I requested the return of my deposit I spoke with Derrick who was a charming and believable talker who of course refused the return of my deposit. Stewart James and a helper installed the skylights on 10/10/2019. When heavy rain returned a big leak that fillled a bucket came through the roof. Stewart James was terrific coming to check the skylight; he was out of town so it too a while. The leak was from the stove vent area near the skylight and not the new skylights. (The old skylight had a hole in it and needed the new skylight) Stewart James gave me a verbal estimate to repair the leak, and I agreed. Repair staff were not available due to holidays, but I persisted after the holidays. Many messages left on Stewart James phone were not returned. I finally gave up and hired my contractor to repair the leak. You can't meet a nicer group of people. As far as getting the job done? Maybe! If staff are available, and there aren't too many jobs backed up, you will be very happy with Trouble Free Skylights. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Trouble Free Skylights. I made the deposit on 7/9/2019 final payment after installation 10/10/19. 3 Months! July to October- 3 Months! I began in JULY! I really hated writing this negative review.

6-weeks since I paid a deposit and no delivery. Called the manufacturer and they have no record of a placed order. Installer claims its backordered. Manufacturer says it is an in-stock item. :-(

We recently had retractable skylights installed in our home. We used Trouble Free Skylights. The sales rep Stewart James was helpful, knowledgeable and personable every step of the way. He took time to address all our concerns and was very patient. After they were installed we had a concern and Mr. James was right on it ! We feel very confident working with Mr. James and know that he will continue to assist us if the need arises. The installer Joaquin was professional and extremely kind, a pleasure to work with. The scheduler Deedee was a sweetheart and very accommodating. I would strongly recommend Trouble Free Skylights,Stewart ,Joaquin and Deedee in a New York minute! And OMG what a difference a sky light that retracts makes as opposed to fixed domes that allow no air !

Stay away from this company! This is a shell company for fraud or laundering money. They don't even sell skylights only fake products. They came to my place a couple weeks ago to give me an estimate on the skylight. The whole time the estimator was standing around looking around my house and taking pictures of places that had nothing to do with the skylights. Then I asked for an estimate. The estimator and the girl from the company were bickering in front of me and cursing each other out. This should have been a red flag, but I was naive enough to listen to the estimators sweet talking that they've been doing this for 30 years. Of course they promptly took my payment and promised me a lead time of 2 weeks. I didn't follow up for 2 weeks since I thought o was dealing with a professional company. Now 3 weeks later I call and it feels like nobody even works at the company. I left several messages for Claudia the rep and asked for a call back- nobody called. It was not until I called from a blocked number that Claudia picked up the phone and said that nobody even placed my order. Apparently they thought I would just forget that I paid and ordered a skylight. This is hands down the worst business I've dealt with in construction and I have been building homes for 20 years. I would highly advise to stay away

I hired a contractor to install my skylights and it leaked within the first year of installing it and he tried fixing it, didn't know the problem. After paying a roofer to determine the leak, they couldn't pinpoint the cause. Trouble Free Skylights came out and knew the problem within an hour and spent an entire day Saturday to fix the problem. Basically what happened is the contractor didn't clean the roof before lying down the torchdown material. They re-did all the roofing 24 inches out, and it's now leak-free.

I had to change my old skylight; so company offered a velux which I was carged doubled that the retail price on internet. no need to have it custom: it was a regular ile;
I did imagine it was a lot of work. in 2 hours of labor the skylight was replaced by a great worker but it costs me 2,500 dollars. I thought it was too high. contact the office. no answer.
It is a rip-off.
way too expensive; misleading as it was a lot of work .

Save your time and energy and pick a different company. Terrible service. Debris left in skylight. Ignoring calls, no one shows up for scheduled appointments. Just a mess.

I scheduled an appointment with this company back in September. They had to reschedule my appointment and that was no problem for me. They rescheduled for October 18th at 10am. No one showed up. I called the company, and they apologized and said their employee was out of town. I'm not sure why they didn't inform me. So we rescheduled again for November 20 at 10am. No one showed up once again. I have now set aside two mornings for this company to show up. I'm definitely taking my business elsewhere.
