While under my house setting some rodent traps, i noticed a portion of my foundation (a sill) was rotten. Of course, it had to be repaired. When it comes to the foundation of your house and the money it costs to repair it, you want to use the best company available. You only want to repair it once.

I spoke with countless people--those who had their foundation repaired and those in the building trade--for guidance. Many had bad experiences. I initially called two companies I knew nothing about to come out..I went beneath my house with both of them during their inspection and learned there was a 2nd rotted sill and a major beam that needed to be replaced. I asked for references from both companies. Neither company was local to Palestine. The first company seemed okay, but had one bad BBB review from a veteran so I decided not to use it. I almost signed a contract with the 2nd company until I read the fine print that absolved it from any damages the repair might cause to just about everything on my property including my driveway. I write all of this to say I did a lot of research to find the right company since the repair was big..

Tritico is a local construction company. My neighbor used them and thought highly of them. The mason I've used suggested I use a contractor and not a foundation company since he'd seen several foundation companies ruin the brickwork on homes. Homeowners usually don't know who is on the foundation company crews or how much experience they have.

Tritico was excellent. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. This was NOT a fun job and the fact that one beam to be replaced was key to the support of the house made it even more difficult. Tritico takes pride in its work. These folks have integrity and did the best job they were capable of. I was also realistic: I knew there might be damage to my drywall, plumbing, and/or brickwork, but that didn't happen.

Also note, I didn't ask Tritico what the cost would be because I wanted the job done correctly regardless of the cost. In the end, the cost fell between the estimates given to me by the two other companies. Also note, I did go beneath my house to inspect the completed work. Tritico is terrific. I would use them again in a heartbeat for just about any construction work.
