2015 I built a house in Hoschton GA in 1999 and the builder who installed my gutters and downspouts used nails to install the gutters which I understand to be the most common method. 9 years later I decided to add gutter guards to my spouting, but thought it would be wise to have new gutters installed at the same time as a few of the nails were loose due to the fact that these nails were not nailed into anything solid as hardiplank facia boards are relatively thin. These nails do not hold long term and have a tendency to come loose over time. So it was a good time to upgrade the fastening sytstem while putting on gutter guards. I called Trim-co Exterriors of Winder GA who came out to give me a quote. At that time I explained to them that I did not want nails but wanted screw in fasteners and that I wanted them fastened to the ends of the rafters to insure that they held as nothing holds very well when attached to hardiplank fascia. They assured me that they would do so therefore I gave them the business. This was to be done in 2009. Come to find out that in early 2015 my spouting was starting to fall off, first in 1 place, then another. It turns out from looking at these areas it was a bit apparent that the brackets were installed not in the rafter ends as I had requested. They just spaced them out every so many feet as would be there standard method, not taking into any consideration that I had requested they be attached to something wood and not just hardiplank. If they said they would not do that I would have just put gutter guards on my existing gutters. My initial complaint arrises from the fact that I paid to have these installed a certain way to prevent problems and now I have the problems that I tried to avoid. Theare willing to come out and fix whatever was falling off but claim they have to charge me to fix something that wasn't done as requested. Installed correctly these gutters should have lasted years longer than the length of time than the did. My original gutters were still useable after 10 and these started falling off after 6 years, so I believe I have a legitimate complaint. I got a call from Scott ***** at Trim-co who told me he who come out and take another look. Said he would call me on Wed and arrange to come out Thurs evening, it is now Wed of the following week and I still have not heard a word from them.
