Just an update for all of you potential Treeium customers out there. I hired an attorney to demand a refund on my monies for which they did no work, have filed a complaint with the CA Contract License Board, who could revoke their license, and filed a claim with their bonding company to collect on their completion bond.
To my knowledge, they have not responded to any of these actions. Help yourself and don't get involved with the Gypsies.
Glenn T.Service Requested: The contractual agreements of our roof, HVAC, Solar, and financial were fulfilled as promised.
Quality: Roof aesthetically was fabulous, HVAC worked, and Solar provided enough energy, so we were paying $22 a month for solar. AWESOME :-)
Value: There were no up charges of installation of our roof, HVAC, Solar, and financial obligations.
Why the three stars then, for the above mentioned points to a five star review?
As we know, how a company stands by their product or service is of utmost importance.
Before, I go into a brief history do want to clarify there is a Treeium Energy and a Treeium Inc. I will be elaborating on Treeium Energy.
Story:
Five years ago is when the Roof, HVAC, and Solar were installed. The very first rain season we were greeted with leaks around our fireplace and in the first bedroom.
Immediately Treeium Energy sent someone out who laid down some tarp during the rain. Then followed up after the rains with an explanation of the leaks that occurred and then applied some masking as a temporary fix and said after the rainy season they would fix the flashing to resolved the issue.
Side note normally masking lasts about 3 years.
That portion was wonderful. Unfortunately, there was no follow up on their part. They never fixed the flashing even after I had inquired several times over the years.
Second Problem during the last quarter of 2022 our Solar Power didn't work anymore, which meant we went from $22 a statement to hundreds of dollars per statement. In beginning of 2023, we got a hold of them and they did send someone over immediately, without notice.
When I say without notice, I mean nobody notified us what day and what time somebody was coming over. They found out the inverter was not functioning. After five months of going back and forth the inverter was replaced. Meanwhile I inquired about the leaks again.
Interesting, again, they sent someone over without prior notice of day and time, to assess the leak issue. The individual surmised it was a flashing issue and a week later, came over and apparently fixed the issue or so we thought.
Well, California finally got rid of their rain drought in a big way in 2023 and we were hit with rains and guess what? Yes, you guessed we still have leaks.
This is where we are at. Presently, I have rubber mades placed in leak areas waiting for the next rain. When will the leak issue be resolved, I haven't been given an affirmative time as of yet.
Many may say, Glenn why didn't you give them a 1 star. Because the installation part was marvelous and the Solar issue is fixed and we are back to paying $22 a statement.
This is more of a forewarning regarding Treeium Energy. Treeium Inc has a A+ rating with Better Business Bureau.
This review is a forewarning regarding Treeium Energy. It's as if they disappeared from their responsibilities. Not sure what that is all about.
I would like to say, just make sure for future projects to work with Treeium Inc not Treeium Energy.
Dawn M.Our new roof, solar panels and inverter were installed through Treeium. Generally, they did a good job with installation, but despite repeated requests to maintain a safe and clean area they often left scrap materials, nails and supplies behind. We were living in the home with 3 children during installation so it was unsafe, and also caused two tire punctures on my car. I could live with all of that.
The real problem is our new electric panel and inverter. At the time of installation, we didn't have an electric car yet. The pandemic hit and car shortages meant there was some delay before my EV arrived and we could test the system. Once it finally arrived, the level 2 charger wouldn't work. It took weeks to get a response from Treeium. They sent someone and got it working briefly before it stopped again. The next time it took even longer to get a response and while they did finally send someone nothing much was done. Instead, the technician blamed my car and said it must be pulling too much electricity. A few days later the charger stopped working altogether. We tested it on 3 different EVs, new and old. It doesn't work at all. That was in June. I emailed with no response. I started making weekly calls. I explained in detail the problem. I was assured every week that someone would call me ""right back"". The first response I received was IN MID SEPTEMBER. THREE MONTHS LATER. Frances told me she would have the technician come out. Two weeks went by. I finally received an email from Carlos, the technician that came before. He said he'd already explained to me that the problem was my car and I should talk to my car manufacturer. I responded that he was wrong, the charger hasn't worked with any of the three cars we've tried it with and they need to do something. That was two weeks and two more emails ago and still no response. We've spent a considerable amount of money with this company, all of our products are supposed to be under warranty and this is completely unacceptable. I have waited way too patiently for almost four months (9 from the beginning of the problem) with no resolution and a blatant disregard for our contract, which they are clearly in breach of. I would recommend avoiding this company at all costs as they will not honor their service contracts. It seems like they just keep stalling hoping you will eventually give up.
Treeium was all peaches and cream when my system was installed two years ago: I gave them a five star review. They were easily accessible by phone and very responsive with proactive project management and skillful technicians who installed the system. This month, I discovered that my system hadn't been making energy for a month. The My Solar Edge app doesn't notify the user of a failure or any problem with the system. When I raised this issue with Treeium after several emails. I was told that they found out via My Solar Edge that my inverter had a problem and needed to be replaced. I waited 9 days for a new inverter to be shipped from Solar Edge to my residence via UPS Ground. After it arrived and several emails later, I was informed by Treeium that I would be charged for the labor for installing the new inverter and putting the system on line as my one year warranty on labor had expired and that I needed to schedule the repair myself through a second party vendor that they will provide me with the information to contact. I also discovered that several of the original people I worked with at Treeium when the system was installed have left and are working for a different solar company and that Treeium had been sold. I paid $23 K for this system and recommended Treeium to a friend for an $80 K repair to his roof and installation of a solar panel system. No good deed goes unpunished. Add to it that you cannot get hold of any human being who works at Treeium on the telephone other than a nice young lady who answers the phone and says she will email whomever you need to speak to. Like so many other solar companies, Treeium insulates itself from customers and is borderline indifferent if a problem occurs after the check clears. Buyer beware!
If this review were only for Frances Mayorga, I'd rate her higher. She did a great job handling my solar battery situation. She was the 4th person who took over the case (lots of turnover and employee churn, pandemic delays, etc.). She showed real initiative in making sure things got completed and that I was kept in the loop as we dealt with various government agencies that weren't well equipped to make this happen from their side (but we had to go through them legally). I can't give five stars because the company had so much internal turnover that this took far longer than it should have. At the same time, I can't blame them too much because no one knew how nuts the pandemic would be and the supply chain issues we'd have with Tesla and their years-long delays. At least the process got done and it works (finally). Took nearly three years, but again, that's more pandemic and Telsa than them, I think.
Harold G.Terrible company, not responsive the return for phone calls being sued by their workers for them not paying them
Dan O.Treeium installed our solar system last year and it's working as expected the installation process was painful, i had to follow up with them to get paper work moving and make sure they install the right panels and fix the broken tiles and they broke few too many!
and that bring me to the worst part! On November my roof leaked in the area were they broke and replaced the tiles, it took them 2 months to sent their roofer and assess the situation.
after 4 long minutes of professional assessments, taking some pictures, they claimed that they are not responsible for that part of the roof since they didn't install any panels, and warranty doesn't apply.
and after some back and forth they offered to fix it for $4,500 and they will do me a favor and cover 50% of the cost. that's great except i got multiple quote for under $2k to fix the leak.
I'm not writing this post to force them to take responsibility and do the right thing, because I don't trust them to do any work on my house.
I picked this company last year because of the quality of work that they sold me on, unfortunately that was a mistake and all the people that I worked with left the company!
good luck!
I've had the typical issue from other reviews with unresponsiveness/slowness in completing the job (so far, 2 months over schedule and 6k more than quoted after contract signed), but the latest issue I've had is water damage due to the work Treeium has done on my roof.
The worst part is how unresponsive they are. Please, just be transparent, and fix issues before they progress. I pointed out cracks in my ceiling and they brushed it off. Now it's an big problem that I frankly can't trust Treeium to deal with.
Photos attached of my incomplete installation. They pulled the tiles off weeks ago, still haven't put them back on, and of course now it's raining and my ceiling is leaking. This was all preventable.
Thanks guys. Way to shaft your customer.
I am providing the review in the hope this will draw their attention to finishing my project. Dealing with Treeium for my solar installation has not at all been a pleasurable experience for me. You are at their mercy once you sign the contract and make the payment. There is no accountability, and timeliness. They are hard to reach by phone. The assigned project manager does not return your text messages. There are instances your email goes without a response from them. I signed up for my project in April. The contract provided the completion date of the end of August. Here we are in October, and I still do not have the solar panel on my roof. There has been a delay from them in every step of the project. It took Treeium well over three months to get the city approval for they did not submit the right permit set (like this is their first project!). I had sent them my HOA contact in April but they did not reach out to them until September simply because they forgot to follow through. In that process they lost my HOA contact. I let go and resent the same information three more times and they kept denying I had sent it each time, before they finally acknowledged their mistake (mind boggling!). We lost three weeks in that process.
All my payments have been made on time, and I expect a prompt service in return but they have failed in every aspect up until now, and my pain has not ended. I am a person that shows a lot of perseverance but they are just too much to handle. I can tell you Treeium I am not a happy customer. Now tell me why you don't deserve my one star.
We contracted with Treeium Energy (a subsidiary of Treeium Inc.) to install a home solar system for us (photovoltaic panels, battery back-up and EV charger) on 1/25/22. As of today (10/12/22), the system is still not operational and the project is not complete. Here are some of the problems that have arisen in the course of this project.
1. The contract we signed specified an estimated completion date of 5/20/22. We are about 5 months past that date and the project is not completed or operational.
2. The contract was outrageously front-loaded so that Treeium collected funds before doing the associated work. There was thus no financial incentive for them to complete the project.
3. The process of getting plans approved by the city was needlessly delayed because Treeium was not aware of the proper protocol to follow in getting approval.
4. Treeium told us that, once materials were received, installation of the system would be complete in 2-3 days after starting work. It took over a month.
5. After installation of the system, Treeium left significant stucco damage unrepaired for a month.
6. Because of all the project delays, we've suffered financial loss as a result of having to pay interest charges and utility bills at the same time.
7. Treeium has tried and repeatedly failed to file proper paperwork to (1) get utility company approval to turn on the system and (2) to get the utility company rebate they told us we'd get.
8. Treeium has been unresponsive to our requests for information on project status and estimated completion dates.
9. Treeium has failed to respond to concerns at all. They've basically been ghosting us.
I would avoid doing any business with Treeium at all, and particularly avoid doing any solar-related work with them. This is not a professional operation.
