Thomas C.Total Home Roofing was the low bid on a large duplex roof (by nearly $10K). That should have been the first clue. Great promises but poor followthrough. Terrible site management resulting in significant damage to stairs and and railing. Tar left on stairs, railings, and decking. Non-existent protection for property. Clear staffing problems, entire tear-off was done by two men. The last 3 days of installation was performed by just one. No meaningful sweep of property for nails following tear-off. Promises to protect exposed soffits ignored. Now it's been two weeks since completion and now I'm being dunned for payment despite having no resolution to the damage problem.
Effectively, 5 years after the installation of a concrete roof, there were leaks. Total Home attempted to blame the leaks on the Fascia and gutters saying that total rot was reasonable.
Turns out the rot was 20k of damage into the beams, significantly higher than the gutters. Their own inspector came out and blamed the flashing for being too short, when I asked him if that should have been identified before they just dropped a roof on it, his response was, ""yeah, probably.""
4 other roofing companies acknowledged and provided reports that it was a faulty installation. The nails used are also rusting off. I've tried to follow up with Brian the president who has ceased all communication and is openly disregarding the warranty.
Hate to get the highest quality roof and just end up getting scammed by a shady practice.
look up the google review to see pics of the rot.
Our roof was started on Feb. 22nd. Today is March 13th. My roof has been undone (black paper) since day 1. (20 days and counting) I have been trying to get legal advice for a week now. This company did a terrible job on everything, so much that I could wright a book on the lies and poor quality of all the work. I am pacing the floors every night wondering how I can get this nightmare behind us. So far, I called 3 inspectors to find out who inspected the roof and the actual inspector has left my calls and texts unanswered today. I have spoken to several lawyers and have not yet decided how to proceed other that starting all over. OMG! I will follow up this review with photos and updated information. Advise anyone considering hiring THR to definitely reconsider immediately before you get shafted.
STAY CLEAR OF TOTAL HOME ROOFING!!!!!!!!!
They do not do replacement roofing. They are incapable of doing a roof correctly. It took from May 2022 until November to complete the replacement. During that time I caught them covering up bad wood, not venting the roof properly, and constantly raining in my house. When I caught them covering up the bad wood they stated ""we don't replace wood"". ""We just cover it up."" ""People just want the leak stopped and the ice guard will do that."" So what they are saying is when the rotten wood gives way due to the weight it doesn't matter. We will haven't gotten your money and your warranties won't be worth anything. Even though the roof is now completed I had to hire another company to put in the linear wood areas. Total H. Roofing then returned to finish the sheeting and shingles. They are not a true roofing company. They can only put on OSB and shingles and they don't do it well. They are not trustworthy and take NO pride in their work. Since then I have found two OSB boards (sheeting) with holes that were covered with ice guard that should have been replaced. This was discovered when the drywallers removed the damaged drywall. They charged for sheeting they didn't put on the roof. I was told they would cover the cost of the other company putting on the OSB and ice guard in the areas repaired by them. Now they are refusing to cover these expenses. DON'T TRUST THEM! We need to file a class action sue. Get in touch [email protected]
Mary F.Doesn't honor warranty. Roof leaks like a flowing faucet. Have been BEGGING daily for them to fix it for the past three months.
Now Looking for a good attorney.
I have called and texted the warranty division from Total Home Roofing, and no one has responded to me; it has been almost 3 weeks and several messages later. I had a full tile installed and the roof leaked in several areas after the hurricane, with inside damage to several rooms. Also, when we had someone inspect the roof to see what was going on, they found that the gutters were never re-attached after the installation. I am still waiting for someone to get back to me, which is horrible customer service. I would be aware of the follow-up if a problem exists after the complete the work. This has not been a good experience.
3 to 4 day job took 3 months and there workmanship is piss poor the have zero pride in there work
We're having problems with Total Home Roofing, now known by another name, too. We had a total roof replacement with a new metal roof during the summer. They have yet to finish by putting in the last vent that was needed. This after having to wait weeks for them to clean up the pile of shards and debris. Now, during dinner with friends in our dining room, rain water began dripping on one of our guests. A phone message left Friday night hasn't been returned. When we reached someone this morning, we referred to their website to file a report, but that was ALREADY DONE, and no one has responded to that either.
Sales with Chris was good. Price was fair back 3 years ago. Then, hurricane Ian hit Central FL. I called THR, which I was told to fill out an online form and to email pictures of roof. I heard back from THR the following day after I emailed pics. I ask if somebody can come out and inspect the roof and Sophia said that there is nothing they can do since they consider hurricanes an act of God. I just ask you to inspect the roof! I ended up calling another roofing company and they came out promptly and did an inspection and thankfully it ended up being a minor repair. My suggestion to you THR is at the very least offer a roof inspection and if you can't fix it under the warranty then say so, instead of flatly saying no, on the phone that they can't do anything, not good. I do not recommend Total home roofing! Bad customer service.
Margaret P.Pros: After creating reviews about this company in terms of the part of our roof they didn't complete (that caused a hole in our roof and water to leak into our home) and miscommunication they've done with me and my family, the company finally came out on July 19 to replace a portion of our roof that they missed. Julio (the supervisor) was professional and they spent a good portion of the day fixing our roof.
Cons: Miscommunication, didn't finish our roof the first time they did it in January 2021
When they were finished with our final roofing repair in July, they took our sandbags and our tarp.
Overall score: D
(Waiting on new pictures of the roof from the company)
