My friend used Top Roofing several months before I did. He said he had a great experience, but told me to get more quotes. Top Roofing had a very competitive quote.

Ever, a co-owner, came prepared with a quote generated from aerial photos. He answered all questions and explained the add on prices.
I went with top.

Amy, the office manager, was helpful and kept me up to date. Mario, the project manager, was very helpful and periodically took drone photos to show me progress. I was lucky and did not need any new decking so was able to squeeze in a couple cosmetic things that were recommended. They did not try and hard sell cosmetic add ons.

From quote to completion, everything has been great. I would recommend. If the roof leaks (which I doubt) after the first storm I will be sure to update my review, but I highly doubt it. It looks like they did a great job.

My roof has had some bad leaks over the past couple years and extensive wood damage. I had been stressed about reroofing since it is such a big project but I am so glad that I found this company as they made the process go smoothly and stress-free. The entire project only took about 3 days for a complete re-roof and Jose was very communicative throughout providing updates with ariel shoots and videos to keep me updated on the progress. His crew was right on time everyday and stuck exactly to schedule. Would definitely recommend this company as they are extremely professional and were also the best bid that I received.

Great experience with Jose (project manager) and Amy (administrator/scheduling/billing) to replace my roof. Both Jose and Amy kept me informed of the scheduling, progress, and billing process from start to finish. They answered any questions timely.

Company was fantastic. They took care of everything from permits to touch ups.
Home is in a HPOZ area and they handled the permits well.
After they did a great job on the roof I noticed an area with issues. They scheduled a time to resolve issues right away. Would recommend highly.

Terrible dishonest company. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Terrible experience. Writing this review to save anyone else from getting ripped off from this company. Worst experience I've ever had with a contractor.
I'll give you a quick summary before giving more detail facts belows.
1) Tried to install plywood over existing old shingles. A huge no no.
a) would have gotten away with it if I did not catch it in time.
2) charge for more material than what they really replaced
a) I asked to go up to the roof and measure the wood with them. They said they would take me up to the roof to measure but never did.
3) prices they charge for materials is the highest roofer charge for mickey mouse work. See 1 and 2 above.
4) Not willing to renegotiate very much on prices down to what other roofer charge.
a) was able to only get a small discount after extensive negotiation and arguing with Ever the owner.

Day 1. Met Efren, the crew lead. The crew demo the shingles on our roof and said we had some rot wood that needed to be fixed. Told us the best cost effective fix was to cover the entire roof with plywood and that would cost $12K. That 12k price is normally the cost for a complete wood tear down and rebuild. That is not what they are doing. The are putting plywood on top of existing wood. I told them to give me another option. They said 9K to replace all the rot wood and plywood. I asked to go up to the roof with them to see all the rot wood they wanted to replace. Around half of what they marked looked fine and not rotted. So I told them to just replace only the wood the was necessary. Still ended up being 6K. Most wood repair cost is 3K and under. Typically 1K and under. But at this point I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Day 2. They did the common wood repaid on the main house and put on new plywood on the home extension. At the end of the day I noticed a big layer of black under the new plywood. I asked Ever the owner if that was old shingles underneath the new plywood that was just put on. He told me no that is not the old shingles without even inspecting it. He then suddenly had to leave to pick up his son. After he left I climbed up to the roof to inspect it myself and sure enough that was old shingles that they did not tear off and just put new plywood on top of. This should not be done as it will cause issues heat and moisture not being able to escape. Thus causing new roof not to last very long.
I took pictures of this and sent them to Efrain.

Day 3. Efrain told me they had to put plywood on top of old shingles because the wood slope was built on top of the old shingles. I asked them to take me up to roof and show me. They told me they would once they tear off the new plywood. They never took me up to the roof and told me they removed the old shingles and put back the new plywood. Toward the end of the day I was inspecting the repair and was counting the common wood replaced and it did not look like 300 feet of common wood that they were charging me. So I asked Ever can we double check. He said he would get a someone to go up to the roof and measure the new wood replaced with me the next day.

Day 4. At the start of the day. They immediately put on the underlayment on top of the common wood covering up the common wood. No one came to get me to go up to measure wood replaced before they did down the underlayment. Now we cannot measure the wood replaced without tearing up the underlayment. Seems very intentional.

As for prices that we were being charged for repairs. They were charging us $8.00 per linear foot for the common wood. While others contractors were quoting by $5.00 per square foot. Other than the difference in the higher price cost. The major cost difference here is between linear vs square foot. More wood coverage with square foot than linear. Therefore you pay less. It is a small wording distinction that you have to watch out for.

For plywood they were charging us $120 per board. Average charge is $80.

Additionally, when I said I wanted to review the contract over. Eder threaten to put a lien over our house.

Avoid these guys at all cost.
