I want to be fair and kind to this company so it's hard to write a bad review, but I have to share the truth. This was a terrible experience!

This project was to finish our garage.

The positives: they got the job done.

The negatives: it was a miserable process.

Engineering:
- Once I paid the deposit and we started, Sean attempted to start the project without providing engineering calculations even though it was literally spelled out in our contract. He claimed, ""it's a basic project and engineering calculations are unnecessary,"" even though we needed to frame the ceiling and plan accordingly for the new ceiling to support the weight. I had to argue for hours. He tried charging me an extra 4k for the engineering calculations. When I was tired of arguing I told him fine I'll have my lawyer deal with it. When I took that turn he finally agreed to keep his word in the contract and provided the calculations a week later.

Timing:
- I was told the project would take 4 or 5 days max. It took more than 10 times that duration.. over 2 months to finish. I know construction always takes longer than the projected time but all the arguments and delays were ridiculous.

Electrical glitches as soon as they started working on the electricity in the garage:
- They blow out a fuse in our hvac system and we had no heater for 3 days.
- Our outlets in the kitchen randomly stopped working and took a couple of days to fix.
- Our lights and plugs in the backyard stopped working and they started blaming the previous electrician who did the electrical work in my backyard. I fought with them for days and they refused to take accountability for it. Finally my personal electrician came and looked at the issue. They gave him a lot of attitude but he took responsibility for their mistake and did the diagnostic work for them and found the wires in the junction box in the attic of the garage (which is a part of the work they were doing in the garage) disconnected. To give them credited, they compensated my personal electrician $50 for his diagnostic work, but it was pulling teeth to resolve this! This was tied with the engineering calculations issue for the most aggravating part of the process.

Quality:
- The worker who actually did the job was a great guy! The final product looks good. So to be fair, I have to give them credit for that, but I had to keep pointing out obvious problems in the work for them to address that should have gone without saying. There's no need to ask me to sign off on the finished job when it's clear that many areas are still sloppy. I wish I didn't have to point out all of that, but at least they addressed all my concerns.

In conclusion, I do not recommend this company.

We found Top one builders through the Google . We can't be happier from the results, Guy and his team took the process from an idea to planing to permit and then key. We requested to add appliances and all small finishes so the unit is ready to rent now without us even being there once. Can't say thank you enough, we was really stressed before we started.
