Tool Time did the detailed design and constructed a pergalo attached to our house in the back yard. It came out perfectly - better than I expected and they did meticulous workmanship even though they were using entirely plain pressured treated lumber. I have received many compliments!!

If you are thinking about using Tool-Time for anything, look elsewhere. My mother called about one skylight in her house. Tool-Time stated that both of them needed replacing even though she was only having issues with one of them. Now, not only is the original one leaking but the one that she didn't have any issues with before is now flooding her bathroom every time it rains hard. She has called them and either receives no answer or is promised someone will come and they never do. It wasn't until I called them and threatened legal action that they finally came out. They however did NOTHING. They stated that the wrong kind of skylight had been installed and that they would replace...last my mother had heard for a few months. When she called them yesterday, she was told that the guy that came out no longer works for them and that another guy is stating they already replaced. Just so you know, the ORIGINAL work was done almost a YEAR ago now. She also now has THOUSANDS of dollars' worth of damage to the house due to the leaks.... go elsewhere unless you feel like having to take legal action to get any work done. One more note, she also used them for her screen enclosure. It was supposed to be able to support a ceiling fan, guess what...it CANNOT support a ceiling fan and they have not done anything about that either.

To say the least, just don't hire this company. It's nothing but lies and delays, coupled by sub contractors not showing up for work and Tool Time employees not answering your calls. It's a total cluster! So much for home town pride and taking care of your neighbor.
Just don't hire this company.

Simple Carport Installation - Tool Time Buildings
(10 x 20 - 6 posts, 16 or so joists, 3 premade metal trusses, tin roof)
I hate writing bad reviews. I'd rather write good ones. Good ones seem to be more productive in that the next customer can enjoy the product, service or the establishment and person getting the review can feel good about how they did/are doing. Positive strokes. Bad reviews are a final effort in calling out a disservice or an unpleasant experience. And normally the relationship then goes further south from there.
But here goes.
1. The staff, especially the management, are extremely hard to get a hold of. I tried calling the Keith, the salesman, several times before a call back was made to get the project started. A deposit was made March 26th, 2020. The production manager, Nick, never never called me back during the entire phase of the construction, even now (hence the review) (4 attempts made - 1 yesterday). Jonathan Renaud, however, should be given a medal for his patience, professional customer service and being extremely attentive to my needs. The only truly outstanding individual! An air traffic controller at a poorly run airport. I presume he was the office manager. Kudos to him.
2. In another Yelp review the term sub-contracting was referred to. A couple who used to work for Tool Time Jacksonville, came out to accomplish my carport project. This is where the other review references cheap materials were used in their project. Same here. The least expense material, wood especially, was used. Chip, cracks, splinters, edges badly damaged. Not really aesthetic at all. I made a call to about it, asked the eaves (at the least) could be replaced with better wood and they said they could fix it but charge me $400 more, trip charge included - (Panama City to Santa Rosa Beach) (yes that's correct - a trip charge). In any case since the couple is farmed out it is obvious that to increase their profit they do it themselves and buy the lowest cost products. I am assuming. Unfortunately, the lack of quality falls on the customer. BTW a call was made to them also - See #1
3. After a deposit was made a permit had to be processed. The customer, me, had to accomplish this. Yes, this is true. Not an easy process...but if you want a simple, so so satisfactory carport done by Tool Time that's what you have to do. : (
4. Carport finally started the week of June 15-19 2020. It took the couple all week. Half days, delayed days, late starts (driving from Panama City). Didn't have the right tools one day. Or ""the trusses didn't come in today"", etc.
I am extremely disappointed that low grade materials were used, why? Wood is not expensive even high grade. This is not the case of ""you get what you paid for"". I expected better, paid for better. I am very disappointed by the response when asking to replace eaves (at least) for better boards (just 2 x 6's) without the added cost on my end. I took it upon myself to place trim around the edges and paint. Looks much better. I am very disappointed in lack of response by management who ironically praise themselves on a local country radio station for the pride and workmanship they put in their work and company.

So, if this helps the next customer then maybe bad reviews help. Wish I could have worked it out with this company or got the quality from the beginning. I think we all want a company who does just a little extra without asking. Not a company where the customer has to go back and complain.

If I could, their rating would be in the negative numbers. FAR into the negative numbers. From start to finish, lie after lie, seven months to build a carport that they didn't pull a permit for and wasn't to code. They came back to ""fix"" it and the result is that I now have holes in my yard and a carport that's not even as wide as a parking space in any parking lot.

Let's just say that a job that was supposed to take a couple days is now beyond 7 months. The people that they hire is just a handyman off of the street. And the work that they have done has been horrible and incomplete. If I knew this I definitely would not have hired them. There is zero communication and so many lies that they can't even keep up with them. I'm beyond disappointed with this company and I just can't see how you can treat your customers this way. I'm very patient and understanding but please don't screw me over. Just be honest and communicate, that's it. Oh and do the job correctly or fix it if it's not because we all make mistakes. This has been the worst experience. I wish someone would have warned me

Jonathan and the crew arrived on time, were courteous and efficient and built a quality shed. They brought all the equipment and supplies that were needed and had it complete and even swept out, and were gone by noon.

I contracted for a pole barn. It took approximately seven months to complete. They did not compact the soil and did not lay wire mesh as per our contract. Nor, did they make any saw cuts in the 24 x 24 foot slab. Therefore, I had excessive and premature cracking in the concrete floor. I sent them an email complaining of this circumstance. They did not respond until approximately five months later with a certified letter from a lawyer that they placed a lien on my property. Also, they did not obtain a building permit. My neighbor complained and officials came to my property and threatened me and my wife with a violation. They were rude and embarrassed us and caused us so much stress. As retired and new residents to this area we were fearful of losing our life savings.
