Stay away from this company. They got over $70,000 from us and could careless about the care, quality, or their customer. This is the quality work you will get if the work isn't done by Jim Shae. Tom could care less and his joke of a project manager is worthless - his name is useless Jack.

So it's been nearly 5 years now since my roof, gutters, AC/Heat job, and while happy to report that there haven't been any more leaks (water or gas), a friend noticed that one of my gutters is literally falling off the house. Turns out it was never properly attached for a length of about 20'. Rather than dealing with Yancey again I'm going to pay someone reputable.

I have never left a review based on just a phone call, however this call was so off putting, and made me feel SO stupid, that I had to.

I called to find out about my roofing needs, obviously. While having a conversation about what my potential needs were, Mr. Yancey asked me about the pitch of my roof, flat vs....? I really don't have any idea what the number value of the pitch of my roof is, so my reply, half jokingly was to say that there was enough pitch that if I were to lay on my side I would fear rolling off. Mr. Yancy then says in a droll and annoyed voice, ""Well, is it a 4, or a 2 or a... what kid of answer is that!?"" I quite literally blushed, as I was immediately embarrassed, and let him know that I would be looking elsewhere.

Ok Mr. Yancy, not all of us know what the pitch of our roof is! Its not flat, and my neighbors pitch would not have me rolling off of it, so yeah, I would roll off my roof. I'm sorry my answer was so stupid that you felt being demeaning to me for it was so appropriate. I'm very happy for you that business is SO good, that you don't have to worry about trivial things like good customer service. I will gladly take my money and spend it with a company that does!

We couldn't be happier with their service! We had them come out to reattach a gutter that had come loose from our upstairs dormer window. Our roof pitches are very steep and so we needed a professional. Greg (I think his name was) was a nice guy, showed up on time, fixed the gutter and then had time left on his one hour call to inspect and make some further repairs. He cleaned up his dropped nails, was careful and respectful of our home and our landscaping. The customer service person on the phone was also polite and helpful. We would definitely use them again if needed and highly recommend them!

When our roof leaked for the third time around the vent of a recent heating and air installation, I called the Tom Yancey Company in Carmichael, on Fair Oaks Blvd. A neighbor had used them and was satisfied.

Our roof was a 25 year old cement SHINGLE, originally rated for 50 years, but the MATERIAL was extremely brittle and pieces had been falling off for years. It was time for a re-roof.

I am completely satisfied with my experience, beginning with Adrian and office staff when the first task was to prevent further leakage until roof replacement could be scheduled.

The plastic covering was well-placed and held down with heavy tiles and stayed in place during heavy winds. Not a drop got through.

The Tom Yancey Company installed Owens-Corning Juniper Woodmore shingles and their Turbo-Ridge ventilation, as well as new gutters. Some slight dry rot repairs were required.

Everything was done neatly, cleanly and BEAUTIFULLY.
Workers responded to my questions and requests and Adrian was available any time I needed him.

Marlo, in the office, helped with the Building Inspection scheduling, calling them for me more than once and that went smoothly as well, with the inspector commenting:

""They did a good job!"" ""You have a beautiful roof!""

The building inspection was completed the same day as this review.

Excellent job on our roof, so glad we went with Tom. He gave us great pointers on selecting the right materials for our very tricky roof. From stripping to final completion we were happy with all aspects of the process. Tom's got a great team.

Disappointed. Mr Tom Yancey himself came out to my home for an estimate to re-roof on June 8th, 2015. Understood that he had a graduation to attend the upcoming weekend, but I would receive an estimate by the following Wednesday/Thursday (17th/18th). We are now on the 24th and I have not received so much as a phone call regarding the estimate. No longer interested now.

Tom Yancey Roofing in Carmichael is EXCEPTIONAL! I recently had my entire house reroofed, new attic insulation blown in, new gutters, reroof and skylight replacement of back patio and two really cool interior skylights installed in my house.

I am really inexperienced when it came to a large project like this, did a lot of research and had 3 complete estimates done. My goal was I wanted someone to handle everything for me - I didn't want to worry about the permit process, coordinating anything or having to buy anything myself. Although all 3 basic estimates were very competitive, Tom Yancey stood out because he gave the most complete estimate (3 page document!), outlining details and options, he is the only one who when on the roof took detailed pictures of everything and did a full presentation of everything to me, brought samples of everything out that I could touch, and he was the only one who followed up with me after the estimate.

Job went very well. Started on a Tuesday, ended the following Wednesday. The tearoff was done very cleanly and completed start to finish within 2 hours the first day! The entire job itself was done by Mark & Allen who are two great guys, very thorough and know what they're doing (and actually were fun to have around my house - I'll miss them!) They both have been with the company for ages!

Every single part of the job was coordinated flawlessly from start to finish! Tom came out the final day to review everything, take after pictures comparing the before pictures and sharing and explaining everything to me, and we reviewed everything. There were a few minor items that needed follow-up and I will admit that did take a while to complete due to their schedule, but overall I am 100% satisfied with their work! Absolutely love the new look of my house and especially LOVE the interior skylights! If you have ever considered getting them, go for it!

I would not hesitate to refer them or use them again. In fact, I have actually referred two people to Tom Yancey roofing, one of them who is having her project scheduled as we speak!

HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE! Tom (Old Man!) Yancey, Christa - the awesome office manager, Adrian - project manager, Mark & Allan, and all the other people who were part of the project who I never actually met! YOU ALL ROCK!

It was time for a new roof and after getting multiple bids from local roofing companies I decided to go with Tom. He was very competitive on price and I believed he really understood what he was doing. He was very thorough in his bidding and with his explanation of what would be happening. They blew in attic insulation while the roof was off and installed the turbo ridge vent system. Very fast and clean install and everything went according to the plan. I was impressed with the crew and with Tom. I highly recommend Tom Yancey and Co.

My husband and I had gone through various contractors getting quotes for our roof as well as replacing all the dryrot and gutters on our home we purchased a couple years ago. Tom was fabulous when he came out to do our consultation appointment. He took pictures of everything he and his team would be working on as well as other items that we had wanted done. For example, we had a fix with our waterheater pipe, his team moved a lightswitch and doorbell for us, and added box covers to our electrical in the attic before they added more insulation.

The whole project was done in five business days (started on a Tuesday and finished the following Monday). His project manager Adrian was very attentive and informative in regards to if anything came up unexpected or simply just to let us know the progress of things. They were all very easy to work with and took any concerns of ours into consideration. Our roof looks amazing! Especially those seamless gutters in all the pictures really do make the house look upgraded and chic. Tom Yancey Company did an amazing job and I would recommend them to anyone.
