I'm sure this company does a great job in & around Mabank, where they are based. I called them to come to my home in Athens for an estimate, which at least was free. The guy who came to my house for the estimate had to call & get verbal directions to my house, because the GPS in his phone ""quit working"". Not very professional, in my opinion...

The jobs I needed were for painting my stair banister & some saloon doors (both inside). I also needed some steps painted on my back porch (outside, but at the time I forgot to include that part of the request). For the inside jobs, he was going to charge me $200. At least he also didn't ask for any money up front. But he kinda had this ""don't call us we'll call you"" attitude. Of course he never called me back.

I eventually paid a more local person $300 for all 3 jobs, including repainting the entire back porch to match the newly-painted steps. (Which he said was only a $50 difference from just the steps.) This guy took my banister & saloon doors to paint at his workshop, but brought them back, reinstalled them, painted the porch steps, & repainted the rest of the porch all in one morning (barely 2-3 hours by himself). He (Stephan Almond 903-752-4259) did a much better & more professional job than Tom & Sons, both with the estimate & with the actual job. I would use his services again rather than Tom & Sons.
