For years I have seen my neighbors use Alves for roofing and asphalt work. I was SO impressed, I wrote reviews on the work they did. Now I have had the opportunity to have them do some work for me and I am also very impressed.

They have a gutter cleaning/repair/maintenance team. Our home was built 28 years ago and after trying to seal the corners and joints for years, I finally decided to have it done professionally. I am also almost 70 and did not want to clean the gutters anymore.

They added two downspouts where there were low spots and where I noticed overflowing with the heavy rains. They also found one area where the original gutters were not installed properly which has caused rot.

I am SO happy I hired them to work for me. With them discovering the improperly installed gutter, I will be able to get it repaired at a minimal cost instead of a major one.

If you want work done and you want it done right, call Alves. From start to finish I received constant contact about when they were coming, how long it would take and what needed to be done.

I sure wish I knew the secret to getting this company to return calls. I was told in one week I would have an estimate, it has now been over six weeks and four phone calls (one directly to the owner) and still no response. This is not only unprofessional but also rude. Sorry I attempted to work with you Alves...you're just not with the hassle.

WOW, the Humboldt way has earned its reputation . Went to ALVES for an estimate and they were twice as much as the competitors. REALLY - this is what is wrong with the county- thieves like ALVES should not be a part of the equation. Those that want to support local business but don't support those that are looking for competition. I wish I could post the actual estimates but $680 vs. $1600+ - REALLY? Go with air tight. ALVES ARE PREDATORS

Next time you do a job, be sure to clean the neighbors yard of your trash. Your workers left tar paper, plastic and other garbage in my yard. Halfway through the job they knocked on my door asking to clean their mess.

I kindly said yes and was happy at the fact they were going to clean their mess. After picking up halfway through the job, the rest of the garbage from the second half hat fell and blew into my yard was simply left there.

We had them resurface our driveway recently. While the cost was a little higher than we expected (although it was still a few hundred dollars less than one of their major competitors) we were still very pleased with their service. The two workers who did the job arrived when they said they would, were very professional and polite, and did a fantastic job.

Based on this experience, Alves will go to the top of our list the next time when need to get an estimate to have a project done.

We had our old roof & rain gutters replaced by Alves.
Showed up at 8:30am were done by 4:30pm. The rain gutters were replaced a few days later. We are very impressed with their professionalism, quality and great attitude. Needless to say there was a real mess as they had to remove the old roofing, black paper, plywood, etc, etc. They covered all our plants & bushes and anything that could possibly be damaged. Completely tarped the entire perimeter of the house made for easy clean up. They had 2 to 3 people picking things up thru out the instillation of the new roof. We can't say enough about how clean and professional they were. We got four estimates, Alves was the only company who also installs rain gutters, so we had to get three other estimates from gutter companies as well. Alves did the roof & gutters for a few thousand dollars less expensive the the just the other roofers & did the gutters too. We would highly recommend them & will use them again if needed. We had our carport roof replaced by Alves in December 2018 as it was leaking bad and they did a great job! Then we found our home roof was leaking also- it was really old and did need replacement- so we hired Alves to do that also. Todd and Ted who did the prep part were great. The day of the replacement about 15 guys and trucks came out and did the whole roof replacement in about 7 hours! And they left no mess either. They found some rot under the old roof and replaced that for a very fair price. I'm impressed with these people and highly recommend them for a roof job! They are easy to deal with and friendly also and most of all they are professionals!!! And we did get two bids- and their price was about the same as the other contractor!

Amazing service. Great scheduling and delivery. Complete roof, skylights and gutter replacement. All done in one day for a home and separate 3 car garage. 15 guys, 8 trucks, in at 8:30am, out at 5:00pm and cleaned up every last nail. Beautiful work. Also working with Alves Flooring for replacing floors in 2 homes.

A huge facility that sits unassumingly off to the side on the far end of West End Road. Look for the huge painted American flag at the road frontage. Alves has literally been here decades, this family owned and operated business offers a variety of home services, materials and supplies.

I recently worked with Shane on a custom metal roof project for my solar carport. His knowledge and friendly demeanor made my project not only easier to finish, he also gave me a very competitive price on my roof project. I requested bids from three other metal roof fabrication companies and Alves was within a few dollars of the lowest bid, and one never bothered to get back to me.

The entire staff are customer service oriented and friendly folks to work with, every person I spoke with or interacted with were all low pressure, kind and friendly. My roof project was within budget and completely fabricated in locally, which was an important consideration for me.

Competitive prices, friendly kind folks and a large selection of choices for all types of flooring, siding and roofing projects large and small. If you're a do it yourself, Alves is worth a visit. I plan to use them for a flooring project next.

Thank you Alves for the fantastic new roof! It was quite a sight to see the crew tear off the old tar and gravel and rebuild and install new shingles. They put tarps down all around the house and covered my garage and did a great job of cleaning up the mess. It was nice to see such good teamwork. I'm super glad I decided not to try doing this job myself!
