The Roof Masters

One year ago, RoofMasters installed the roof on a 1,200-sf house. In 40 years as a licensed architect, I have never had a worse experience with a roofing contractor. Despite receiving plans, the number provided to compare with other fixed roofing bids was only an estimate. At the end of the job, I found out that they underestimated the amount of single ply roofing by 18% which made them the most expensive roofer.
A few days before the start of the roofing, I was informed that they did not include rigid insulation despite email confirmation from RoofMasters months before that it was included. This caused delays in the start of roofing. To avoid additional delays, I agreed to have them install white edge metal and pay someone to paint it because at the last minute RoofMasters informed me that they couldn't get the prefinished edge metal that was called for without a delay. The quality of the edge metal installation was poor and subsequently, even their workers admitted it. I was informed by workers and the project manager that I would be contacted about a solution. I have not been contacted in the last year. When RoofMasters arrived to install the rigid insulation, the installers asked how the roof was to slope. The slope was shown on the plans, but RoofMasters said that the installers didn't know how to read plans. Despite having the installers there, the insulation installation was delayed because no attachments were delivered. There are other issues that could be cited.
I had to constantly call RoofMasters long distance while on vacation to monitor their work and make sure that it was getting down. The result was that it cost me more money as well as delays that impacted the overall construction by two weeks. I delayed this review, to reflect on my experience as a professional and to remove emotions from my review. Based on my experience with this project and as an architect, I would never recommend this company.

The Roof Masters just finished replacing a leaking patio roof. From start to finish, they did a great job. Workers were professional and courteous. The quality of the work is excellent as is the warranty. Brianna always kept in touch with updates. Carlos, the project manager, always was available to answer any questions and explained everything completely. I highly recommend this company.

Carlos, Santos and the team at Roofmasters were phenomenal. They just finished up repapering and re-tiling our house and the quality of work is impeccable. From the start they were very responsive, offered their roofing work for a fair price, hit every deadline (actually they finished earlier than expected) and were responsive to any questions we had a long the way. The guys who put the roof on worked really hard and were extremely nice and mindful of our home; moving things so they were safe, cleaning up each day and moving items back to their original place. As a newer homeowner, this was the biggest home project yet for us and we are beyond happy with Roofmasters. Carlos gets a special shoutout for managing the relationship, helping us make decisions, showing us options and making sure the project was completed to their standards. Santos gets a shoutout for technically doing the roofing work and leading the rest of the team. He did such a good job with the project.

It was wonderful working with Jhonny and his team. Jhonny was very responsive after the initial inspection to any questions I had. I was also kept informed on the daily progress on the reroofing of our home. Hi team got the job done in 3 days and did excellent job of cleaning up my yard each day and after the project was complete. I had 7 quotes on the roof and Jhonny provided a competitive and reasonable quote. Highly recommend!

My husband did the communication and it's this business so I am basing this review off his feedback . The initial contact and quote process was done timely and the lady who helped him was informative and prompt . The quote process was done and what we were quoted on was the final price . There was miscommunication after we agreed on getting our roof done , the start day/time given did not happen. The downside to this was my husband having to take time off work for no one to show up or call. Once that was clarified they immediately started the next day and was done in two days . The guys were quick and friendly. The clean up was amazing . It was a job well done in such a timely matter that was much appreciated on our end .

I researched quite a few roofing companies throughout San Diego and Roof Masters exceeded my expectations by far. They were responsive from the very beginning and Jhonny the Project Manager was able to answer all of my questions and concerns. They had the most competitive prices and matched any bids from other companies that came in under their original bid. The team that came out to install the new roof was very professional and worked hard to complete the project in just 3 days. Jhonny was available to respond to all of my requests and questions throughout the project. The roof looks amazing and I couldn't be happier with the end result. This is our second time using the company in 2 years for a full re-roof. Jhonny M was my recent project manager. He made sure everything went smoothly and followed up after the job completion. As for the crew, they were hard working and did the job well. I had an old timer contractor doing other work outside (past roofing experience), and he was impressed with the company not taking shortcuts.
Roof masters offered a very competitive bid and the best warranty around too. The job was also finished in 1/2 the original time estimated. After the old shingles were removed, they also worked late to make sure the underlayment was down since we've been getting lots of drizzling lately. Very satisfied with total job completed.

I had Jhonny as my project manager to put on a new roof. Quote was half what another company quoted. It was about two months before the work began due to many people needing roof work after the awful winter we've had this year. They actually started the work a day early. Jesus was the foreman on the project. Polite guy who did the work with several others. Yes I heard some pounding on the roof but it wasn't as loud as I expected. And they were self sufficient. Took 3 days to tear off the old roof and install the new one.
