Thanks to Storm Phillips of the Missing Shingle. I, being a single lady, had several problems at my home, which needed attention. Mr. Phillips thoroughly examined my roof and made the necessary repairs, assuring me I did not need a new roof at this time. He also repaired some trim on my chimney, replaced some fencing boards and did repair to a gazebo in my yard.
Everything was done in a timely and professional way. I was told the cost first, then asked if he should proceed with the repairs. I was happy with the price and the outcome.

As a handicapped senior citizen, I needed someone else to climb on the roof of my 1960's house and fix a leak in one of the bedrooms. I saw Storm's pick-up truck at a local grocery store and called him. He came out quickly, gave an estimate far below the other 4 I'd gotten, went out of his way to make sure he matched the shingles (now out of production) as closely as possible, and I was very happy. Several months later, I had the house on the market -- just could not keep up with cleaning, maintenance and expenses of home ownership. High winds blew off several shingles, not where he'd previously worked. He came out, still had some of the close-to- a-match shingles, and replaced the ones that were missing. He also secured several that were likely to fly off in the next big wind.
It's shocking that other reviewers have left such negative comments. No, I am not a cousin, niece or nephew, not related to him at all, just a person who was VERY HAPPY to have my roof repaired -- twice -- by a professional who was fair, cheap, professional, and fast. I highly recommend him -- and have, to several of my family members.

This guy is the biggest scammer and rip off artist ever. I had a couple spots on my roof leaking. I searched for roof repairs and based on the reviews that must have been left by his cousins, nieces and nephews, came up with this guy. He came out, squirted some caulk, and charged me $400 dollars. Next time it rained the same places were still leaking. When I called him to tell him about the leaks, he never came back to fix them. I called several times, and was blown off each time, eventually he stopped answering.

Biggest SCAMMER ever, he fixed NOTHING.

Do yourself a favor and keep looking, find someone else. If you pick this scammer, don't say we didn't warn you.

We hired Storm to fix a leak on our front porch. He came and he was a very personable guy, do not let this fool you. After he left the next rainy day the leak was worse. We called and texted for 4 months and just got excuses or nor response at all.

Bottom line he does not do good work and does not back up his work.

Storm Philips gives the impression that he is honest but he is a thief and a liar.
He worked on my roof to eliminate a knocking noise. The problem is still there and he would not come back to fix it after several attempts to contact him.

I too, hired Storm Philips as he was recommended on Thumbtack. I needed both masonry repair and roof caulking. I liked him and actually thought the work he did was good....until it rained. What I thought was mortar quickly started bubbling up, oozing and dripping from the bricks. It was weird! Everyone asked me what the sticky stuff was all over my porch. I contacted Storm several times, fully expecting the nice man to respond, but he did not. I reported to Thumbtack and they are sending me some legal forms to pursue a refund. I am not in a position to lose $550. I have a chronically ill child living in my house. I was duped.
The funny thing is that I had at least 3 other people who needed work done and I was going to refer them to him!
Side note: I will never use Thumbtack again either. In my experience, they are misleading in the way they ""recommend"" service providers. They are just advertisers who give you a limited set of bad choices!

WARNING! Storm has done a great job building his review profile, which is why I selected him, but my experience was terrible. Storm gave me a firm quote after I sent him details and pictures of the work that needed to be done (basic flashing project). When he arrived on site, the price went up. Nothing changed about the work, but when he was there and I was committed, the price changed. He did do the work quickly, and was diligent about collecting payment. When I had another GC over a couple of weeks later on an unrelated project, he asked me who had done the roof work and suggested that it needed to be redone as it was completely ineffective. His exact words were ""that's the worst flashing job I have ever seen, it's not even flashed, it's just caulked to the wall.""

When I contacted Storm about it, he was extremely defensive. Telling me that my GC just needed to shut his damn mouth. When I calmly said that I would just like him to review the work done and remedy the situation, he agreed to. That was more than 4 months ago. I have played email and phone tag with Storm ever since. Usually I get no response, but when I threaten to leave this review I get a one sentence email saying he is out of town but hasn't forgotten. After five months of this, I am giving up and making good on my promise to post my honest review of his work. The work was terrible, the price was high, and the experience maddening. Proceed with caution.

In Dec 2014 my husband & I contracted Mr Phillips with The Missing Shingle to install a roof for us on a home in Dallas. At that time he requested & received a deposit of $2700. The roof had not been installed as of April 2015. After several attempts to contract Mr Phillips & getting no response from him we were forced to hire another roofer to install the roof. We also paid him $750 to install a skylight on our home in Irving. This skylight was installed but has leaked ever since. Mr Phillips refuses to acknowledge our many calls & text messages and has not many any amends to fix our skylight or refund our $2700. I would not recommend this person or company as he has been very unreliable and took our money but did not provide the service.
