Awful experience today... Bought and paid for a Cub Cadet riding mower. Went back with my receipt and was told I could not pick up my purchase. The assistant manager said the mower had already been sold before I paid for it and so all they could do was refund my money. He said the mower was sold prior to my buying it to someone else. Personally, I think he had someone else he wanted to sell the mower to. Then to make matters worse their system tried to refund me my money, but $49 short. After 45 minutes they gave me the refund and included the missing $49. The ladies behind the counter were nice and tried to help, the assistant manager did not attempt to help. The manager was nice and listened, but did not offer to make it right. I will not ever go back. I would give zero stars if the system would allow it. BIll

Not really sure what happened to Home Depot customer service, but it is simply horrible. Granted, sometimes an ""off experience"" happens. The sales representatives are human as well. But when multiple sales associates seem to be having a bad day, sales associates talks on the phone (personal calls), while to wait to be helped, sales associates having idle conversation not caring that you're standing right there waiting for their assistance, all these actions on multiple occasions! You have to wonder what type of customer service training is being administered?? Then it was exposed...I asked to speak with a manager. The manager's demeanor was evident why the sales associates performed their duties in such a non-caring fashion!

Worst customer service I'be encountered at any Home Depot. Standing in line while their taking phone calls from other people. Only I person can check stuff in what a joke what they don't come to work does store shut down. Even management can't check stuff in.
Waiting 30 minutes to check in Penske truck usually take less than 5 minutes.
Ended up talking to store manager said their working the process for improvement.

the products are fine but customer service is bad. i have puchased some building materials in the past and had the same problem i am having now. i purchased some plywood and some 2 by 4's and could not get anyone to help me load in the back of my truck. i went to the pick up area and i was told that everyone was a t lunch. i am 65 yrs old with back problems. i had to struggle to load the plywood and boards myself and a older man like myself who was a customer who was leaving saw me and helped me load my materials. that is so wrong to have everyone at lun
ch at same time. what happened to customer service? from now own i will shop at lowes.

Service here was informative and not overly intrusive. Of course there's a wide selection of everything, but keep an eye out for the clearance merchandise. They encourage using the self-checkout aisle. I don't like it, but at least there's always a live person at the cash register.
