What can I say...Walter is the man. He gives contractors a good name when so so many will take your money and run. Walter is pleasant to work with, arrives on time for everything, does what he says he's going to do, does great work and most of all he is honest. I have no issues vouching for this guy...he's great! If you're thinking about hiring a contractor, look no more....this guy is it. Call him and find out for yourself. Thanks again Walter, without your help our project will not be completed.

The Great Ocean did a complete renovation on my condo in San Francisco. Walter took care of getting all the permits, worked with my HOA, and got the job done beautifully.

Walter is one of the most accessible persons I have ever known. He always responds to text messages, emails, VMs promptly. This helped a lot as I lived an hour away from the condo and could not talk to him face to face very often.

The fun part of remodeling always includes unexpected issues and surprises. Of course, it's only fun when you have a contractor like Walter who can calmly analyze the situations and thoughtfully present all the options.

It was kind of interesting when one of the electricians told me that I was lucky to have found Walter. I think it really shows that he is well liked by people who work for or with him.

Will I use The Great Ocean again for my future remodeling projects? Definitely!

I had the pleasure to work with Walter on a full remodel early this year. I have used numerous contractors in the past and the biggest problem I've experience with other contractors is the lack of communication and timeline. Walter was like a breathe of fresh air, he would always text me updates almost on a regular basis, I totally appreciated how he always kept me in the loop. Our first experience with Walter and his Great Ocean team was when they did a remodel of our kitchen. The thing that impressed us so much was the professionalism of his whole team. Arrived on time, did excellent work and cleaned up each day before they left. And the work? Wow! Amazing. Walter is such a cooperative and humble person. Always checked with us to make sure our needs were being met and was always willing to do the little extras to make sure we were happy with the work.

When my wife and I decided to construct a 700 square foot Master Retreat addition to our house, and a remodel of an additional 2 1/2 bathrooms, it was a no brainer who we would call. Again, the team was fantastic and the work was impeccable. Walter is a shining star with a great sense of humor. My only regret is that I can't find more work for him to do on the house. During the long 6 month project, I got to know Walter quite well. I know I am going to miss him.

We had our first construction/remodel experience with Walter and the Great Ocean crew. We did a full down to the 2x4s remodel in the entire house along with a full backyard remodel. New kitchen, bathroom, windows, hvac, electrical, plumbing, and more.

From the initial meeting through final payments, the experience, transparency, and honesty was the best I could hope for. Communication and responsiveness to my many questions was second to none. He quickly found solutions to small problems that arise with any remodel. The quality of the work is high. We recommend Great Ocean for any variety of house projects.

Where should I start. I've worked with Walter and his team on different projects including our previous house, current house as well as a couple of investment properties.

Our previous house job was small job - adding a half bathroom, hallway to connect the bonus room, but he treated same level as a big job.

Our current house remodeling was extensive. We turned the house upside down - changing some room layout, reflooring, all bathroom & kitchen remodeling, window replacements as well as outside siding, yet he was able to finish everything in 6 month!!

He's always professional, earnest, and easy to work with. It's great to have a general contractor so we don't need to worry about subcontractors.

Also he always has good ideas about materials and application. Certainly I will work with him again for any future remodeling.

This is my first review on Yelp. As myself currently working in the high end elevator interior installation business and most of my clients demand everything down to 32nd details; so that makes me a very picky person as well :). However, when came to home remodeling for my home (redo hardwood floor, bathrooms, deck and landscaping ), Great Ocean was referred by a close friend and they really surprised me with the quality of the final finishing products and attention to details. I have nothing to complaint about and will definitely recommend them to my friends !!!

The project was just finished in Sep2015 by the Great Ocean team. The work includes remodeling two full baths and put in bamboo flooring in two rooms. We now have tile enclosing for the tub, quartz enclosing for the shower, floating bath vanities and pocket doors for the both baths.

The job was finished smoothly without any hassles. My husband and I both have very demanding jobs, so we are grateful that the Great Ocean team handled everything for us without a problem. No unexpected extra charges. The project stayed within our budget. No mess was left behind after they finished. Very good communication throughout the whole project. The tiles were put in beautifully. Everyone complemented on the workmanship.
