The heavy rains breached our roof this winter. After seeking bids from various companies, The Best West Roofing came through for us. A very solid, reliable company, with a considerate, hard-working crew, well-managed by the owner, Samuel Ettedry. He was accurate in meeting deadlines, handling glitches, and smoothing out the whole process. The final skylight installation was done so quietly, even my dog didn't bark! It is a rare pleasure to find someone as honest and sincere as Samuel, with unsurpassed professionality to get the job done.

I hired Best West Roofing in August 2021 to replace the roof and install new gutters on the original structure of our house. I had gotten a bid from another company whose representative used more aggressive sales tactics; I was about to hire them before Sam came out. I just had a feeling that Sam was more honest, and appreciated his straightforward and comprehensive explanations which were not shrouded in sales talk. I decided to hire Best West instead. They did a great job on our roof; all of the leaks in that part of the house stopped.

During that work, an old, disconnected pipe fell through the crawl space and into our shower, creating a large hole in the ceiling. The pipe was obviously old and had been there a long time, probably left there by another contractor. Sam didn't argue the point and promptly had someone come and fix the shower ceiling. As an already stressed out homeowner I really, really appreciated this and always remembered it.

In 2023 we had the horrible series of winter storms that really thrashed this old house. Everywhere Sam and his crew had worked in 2021 stayed dry, but we have a house extension that they had not worked on that began to have serious problems, as well as a leaking chimney. Sam was able to come out and fix the stucco on our chimney, assess the issues during a time frame when I'm sure everyone in LA needed roof work, and eventually replace the roof on the house extension in time for he latest storm. He was, as always, reasonable, professional, very clear.

There are a lot of contractors out there with varying degrees of skill, competence, professionalism and integrity. The last thing you need when doing a big job on your house is someone who is difficult to work with. Sam has it all-- he is easy to communicate with, does great work, has strong management skills and best of all is just a nice, fair and honest person. I would highly recommend the Best West Roofing for all roofing needs and will continue to hire them for all jobs here.

2022&2023 there were some terrible storms with hard, relentless rain and hail. Our main house as well as our garage conversion roofs started to leak water with every storm. We called 4 roofers, and the one that was most res poo was Best West. They saw the damage, understood the layout of our two roofs and gave us a good bid. They were not the cheapest, but they wrote the most comprehensive estimate in a language we understood. They handled the permit with the city and were able to complete the project of two roofs in 3 days. That included roofing, paint and patch and new Spanish tiles. Friendly and respectful crew were clean and kind. They are trustworthy and honest. I totally recommend

I reached out to Sam to schedule an estimate for a roofing issue I had. Sam provided a very prompt response over the phone and he was able to come out and discuss what needed to be done on the roof in a timely manner. He provided a bid with details in a reasonable amount of time, and his price was competitive and generally in line with the other quotes I had received. We scheduled the work and on the scheduled day, Sam arrived exactly on time and walked me through the process again. His crew arrived soon after and started work, and was very receptive when I asked to watch - not every day you get a new roof! Sam's crew worked hard, completed the job, and cleaned up promptly afterwards. Throughout the whole process, Sam kept me in the loop and communicated what was going to happen. These days it can be tough to find a good, communicative business, but The Best West Roofing seems to have done it. I would recommend them to others looking to have roofing and gutter work done.
