We called and they gave us an appointment for a free estimate. Waited all day and no one showed up or called. Good thing my husband works from home and didn't have to take a day off work to wait for them to show up. We had a small repair job and not a full roof replacement. Called Texas Star Roofing to get an estimate to replace my roof and gutters. The guy immediately asked about my insurance and how long ago the adjuster was out. I told him its been 3 weeks, and he said ""oh well prices have just gone up so we will probably have to get a supplemental check'. I asked him if he could just come out and give me an estimate. He said ""I only deal with insurance, so if you just want an estimate we aren't going to work together"". So I didn't have them out. I only deal with honest businesses that are not trying to get extra money from my insurance. Don't call them.

I bought a new roof for my home from Texas Star Roofing three years ago. I paid $28,000 out of pocket. My roof has both sloped and flat sections. They did a good job on the sloped sections of my roof. Unfortunately, the other sections they worked on proved to be a disaster.

They tore off my leveled, built-up roof, and covered what remained with terrible peel-and-stick roofing that never really stuck very well (""handyman's special,"" another roofer called it). I had three leaks during their warranty period, and since then, a number of other leaks. I also now have giant ponds of water on the roof that take days to evaporate after every rain, and the excess moisture has caused my house's siding to swell up in places, and the paint to peel off.

When this roofing job was complete, my wife and I initially expressed concern about the quality of worksmanship and materials. Jay Williamson, the man in charge of the project, responded by staring at us menacingly, then shouting at us, and finally storming out of our house and slamming the door in my wife's face with all his strength. After the job was done, there was seemingly no concern on the part of Williamson or anyone at Texas Star Roofing if the job had been done well, or if we were satisfied.

So, I'm now in the position of looking for a new roofer to re-do most of the roof that they ruined three years ago. If there is anything unusual about your roof, or if you have high expectations, I advise you to avoid these roofers; they have professional-looking ads, yet they seem to do shoddy work, and I witnessed how they behave threateningly when a customer expresses dissatisfaction.

The staff members were very helpful in getting my claim process moving along quickly. The were available to meet with the insurance adjuster and worked with them to ensure my claim was 100% accurate.

When the roofers came to my house, they kept the trash at a minimum amd cleaned the area after all the work was done. I am very happy with the level of professionalisim and speed with which my roof was replaced. I would recommend Texas Star Roofing to anyone needing work done.
