Founded in Austin, Texas in 2010 by Steve Huskey, Texas Roofing Repair was born when Huskey noticed that external commercial roofing contractors were coming to Austin for projects. Identifying a need, he sought to form a local commercial roofing company. He started assembling a team of roofing experts who could manage everything from sizable residential roofs to larger apartment and hotel roofs, up to skyscraper roofs. The company initially launched in San Antonio, then swiftly expanded to Austin and Houston. In 2014, Texas Roofing Repair opened its latest branch in Killeen.

Our first employee was JT, as we were just starting out. JT had been the General Manager for a custom home builder in Central Texas, managing 7 crews for 18 years. Ready to develop his own crews with a specific culture, he was a perfect fit. JT acts as the conscience for insurance adjusters. With his knowledge, he can point out inaccuracies that insurance adjusters fix 80% of the time.

Huskey pursued a degree in Management and Marketing. While in school, he played sports and held a position on the board of directors for the Humane Society. Huskey says, ""Being part of the board of directors was a fantastic education for me. It was composed of executives from Fortune 500 firms, generous donors, and business owners. Collaborating closely with these leaders for two years taught me how to manage a turnaround. We executed a substantial change for what was previously a significant kill shelter in Texas. We turned it into the largest no-kill shelter in Texas.
