Texas Master Roofing
Company Overview
Our company, located in Schertz, specializes in providing exceptional roof repairs and storm replacements. We are certified by the Independent Construction Contractors of America, which empowers us to engage with insurance adjusters and offer expert claims evaluations and estimates. This ensures that homeowners are prepared for an insurance adjuster's inspection and helps prevent underpaid claims.
We understand that navigating a roof replacement through a storm damage claim can be lengthy and frustrating, making it essential to have an expert on your side.
The journey begins with a basic roof inspection performed by Kress Childs, the owner of the company. This free inspection will give you visual documentation, including pictures and a video of any storm damage on your roof. Following this, we help you navigate your insurance claim and replace your roof for the amount agreed upon by the insurance adjuster, the homeowner, and TMR.

If you are going to hire this company, don't pay any money up front. I signed the estimate provided by Kress Childs of Texas Master Roofing, on 9/6/17, and gave him a deposit. This was for a complete asphalt shingle re-roof of my home. To this date, I have never been given a firm start date. I was initially told my project would start around 9/26/17 due to other projects, ahead of mine, that he needed to complete. That week was not a good weather week, so I wasn't surprised that the project wasn't started. Since then. I have attempted to call, text and email in order to get a firm start date. Phone calls and text messages have never been responded to. I have received hit or miss email responses providing vague time frames for when the project might start and eventually one describing supplier and email issues. I was also told, via email, on 10/24/17 ""Please hang in just a couple more days."" and that he would call me in the morning with his team lead. That call never came and I have never heard from Kress to this day.
The last straw for me was when I read recently posted negative reviews on HomeAdvisor and Google. I have no trust or confidence in Kress Childs of Texas Master Roofing, that he will provide a quality product, and have requested that he promptly return my deposit. I will most likely have to pursue legal action to recover my deposit. If you are going to have this company do any work for you, I suggest, in order to protect yourself, you request that he provide up-to-date copies of his Workers Comp. and Liability Insurance Certificates as well as check his Business License to make sure he's registered to do work in your area. Also, it would be wise to identify everyone working on your project because if they are subcontracted by Master Texas Roofing and aren't paid after the project is completed, they may file a lien. Identify and request a lien release/waiver before making final payment.

We contracted Texas Master Roofing in June 2017 to put a new shingled and metal roof on a complete remodel we are doing. They did a roof across the street and they were in and out fast and recommend by the realtor that was selling the house. We are on a strict timeline with our loan and this company has been a nightmare!!! The first rain we had after the roof was done, we had buckets upon buckets of water running down the walls in two places! It took them weeks to come out to ""fix"" the issue. Next rain, buckets again. And we're talking about 5 gallon buckets! Weeks go by again waiting on Kress to give us an answer of when he'll get someone back out here. He finally said he was sending another company when hurricane Harvey was making its way here. Someone came by as the rains were starting, not aware of who or which company, and NAILED a tarp down on my roof. My roof was not leaking under the area of the tarp in the first place, but now I had a bunch of nails in my shingles where I didn't previously have an issue, thus creating a whole new leaking area. Again, buckets of water through the Harvey rains. I can't tell you the amount of times someone was sent out to my home to fix the issue, only to have it turn out worse than it was prior to the ""fix"". Three months almost to the day, I finally had a roof that appears to be fixed. Although, mid October, I'm still waiting on them to come out to install a boot on my metal roof.
On September 20, 2017, the day after the roof was finally leak free (the original leak, the nailed into shingles had to be replaced again after this date), I received a certified letter saying that I was being threatened with a lien on my property by a subcontracted worker, if I didn't pay over $2500, because Kress didn't pay one of his subcontractors HE hired. I paid my bill in full at the original completion of my roof so I was in no way responsible for payment to anyone else. I've attempted to get in contact with Kress on the matter and have not received any confirmation of him taking action on this. The last thing I want to be dealing with, after all the delays this leaking roof has caused, is a lien on my home. I'm ready to be in my new home, not looking for a lawyer.
Do not hire!
