When we decided to renovate our home to make it more handicap accessible, we contacted and went with Tejas Roofing and Construction. We had used them previously for roof repair and replacement and were happy with the work they did. Through that, I found that they are also ADA certified. Our house is almost fifty years old, so there was a lot of things that needed to be upgraded. Deb Tejada acted as the general contractor and set up outside vendors, such as plumbing and the purchase of items like tile, flooring, etc.

Felix and his team did a great job, sometimes working six days a week. A lot of places will give you a quote, take your money and then show up sporadically, if at all. The Tejas crew, on the other hand, stayed on the job and were there every day. We had major renovations, such as adding/moving doorways, installing pocket doors (which, for some reason, are very hard to find), creating a roll-in shower, enlarging the master bathroom, (including adding grab bars and solid shower benches), remodeling the kitchen, installing new cabinets and repainting the interior. They completed all of this in just over two months! Highly recommend you add Tejas to your next project bid list.

They should spend less money on advertising and more on their crew and product. Their service guy showed up and needed to barrow a flashlight to do his job. Apparently, he forgot to charge his phone. $600 later I still have a leak. Had to rehire a competent roofing company and repaint interior for a second time. Got loads of double talk from lady on the phone that wanted to charge me again to repair the same issue. ALL TALK. I wished I had never heard their advertisement.

Just talked to Deb (the owner) for the 3rd time. They kept losing my information and she was rude (somehow blaming me for her disorganization). She never would take responsibility.
Never could get a quote from them. :/

Tejas Roofing and Contracting did all the finish work on a flip house for me. They did such a great job, when I sold the property and the inspector came to the house, he asked for their phone number. He said he had never seen such fabulous finish work and wanted to hire them. Tejas completely redid the kitchen, rebuilt the chimney, completely remodeled two bathrooms, re-braced the roof, and THEN they painted everything. It was fantastic, I sold the house in 3 days. You need it done -- they can do it, and do it well.

This business, base on my recent experience with them is why contractors as a whole and those who work for companies like Tejas Roofing & Contracting obtain bad reputations. Tejas really works hard to earn that reputation as the co-owner, Deborah Tejas, attempted to extort $10,000 from me by verbally changing a written contract and since I didn't allow the contract change they left my repairs incomplete as well as some of what they did do in a less than condition in terms of quality.
Please avoid this company to save time, money and th chaos they bring with them.

This would have been 3 stars, but I don't deal with liars. Blatant liars.

I called to schedule an inspection to look at 2 leaks in my roof. I asked how much it would cost and Deb said it wouldn't cost anything for the inspection, unless the inspection was extensive and it would be $175.

They came out 2 days later. I was at work and my wife stayed at home to show them the issues we had. I was on then phone with my wife when they pulled up. We got off the phone so she could let them in to look around.

She called me back when he was done, and still there, to tell me what he found. My wife said we owed him $175, but I was confused because he had only been there 23 min. I check my phone logs with my wife. Also, he couldnt take my wife's card cause they can't take card payments and they would call me for payment. But they would take my card over the phone? Very inconvenient.

When Deb called to let me know they were done I asked if there was a charge. I knew there was, I just wanted to see what she would say since she originally said it would be no charge for a quick inspection. She did say there was a charge. I asked her if it was a quick inspection and she found out I was not home but at work. Thinking I wouldn't know how long the inspection lasted, she tells me straight up, ""He was there for a long time, that's why we have to charge you."" Such a blatant lie!

I couldn't believe this lady would lie straight to my face. She tried to smooth it over by saying the $175 would come out of the cost of the work. The right thing to do would be to refund my money and apologize, but that will never happen. I'm just going to try to let everyone know what kind of business this is.

I chose Tejas Roofing because I believed they would provide the highest quality roof for a fair price, their recognition by GAF as a Master Elite contractor, their longstanding business relationships with high-quality suppliers, and the long-term experience of their installation crew. I got bids from 3 highly rated companies. Tejas' bid was in the middle of the 3. Their crew worked very hard in scorching hot weather and did an excellent job. They also did an excellent job cleaning up afterward. I would have given them 5 stars except for a mistake by the satellite company they used in estimating the amount of roofing material needed, which resulted in a significant cost increase that Tejas split with me.

It has been almost a year since we had our roof replaced by Tejas Roofing. I think about Deborah Tejada and her workers often as I drive up to the house. The roof is complex with steep slopes and many valleys and intersections. Her team was confident and reassuring in the approach to the job and in the execution of the work.  My wife and I remain extremely pleased with Tejas Roofing's work on our house.  The roof continues to look fantastic! I feel blessed that it was Deborah who answered the phone when I called Tejas Roofing almost a year ago to inquire about urgent repairs on our roof. She got the ball rolling and we soon had our new beautiful roof.

After a bit of confusion in getting them to my house, they finally arrived and did a patch job that didn't hold. It was our mistake in going the quick and easy route. And it did state on the invoice that there was no warranty.

Roof leak is now worse so we called out another company who said it should not have even been patched the way it was and to give them a call to see if they would make an effort at amends as he didn't want me to pay good money after bad.

Well I did get in touch with Tejas and, as stated on the invoice no warranty.

I would not be leaving a bad review had the owners wife not been so terse with me. Now, this might just be her ""way"" but I found it a bit unprofessional and off-putting. My debt to Deb and her company has been met and I'll not deal with them again.

Just received a call from Roland who was willing to come out Monday. Very gracious and polite. Working with him would have been so much nicer from the beginning. Told him that I was pretty much shut down by Deb yesterday, so went with another company.

In reading the other reviews, I can't help but notice that Deb is the reason behind all the negative reviews.....hate to think folks are missing out on hiring a great company because of a problem office staff.

They did a quick but thorough replacement of my leaking roof, did a good job with cleanup, and the price was fair. Highly recommended.
