I had roof damage from recent windstorms. I called Tanner Roofing to give an estimate. One of the questions I asked was, Do you work with insurance?
I had no way of knowing how bad the roof was. Just wanted to cover my bases. Ronnie Tanner came to do the estimate. It took a couple of minutes for me to get to the door. By that time, he was pulling away from the curb.
He did come back, but things went down hill. I apologized for not being at the door right away. I told him what happened to the roof. He said if I wanted to work with insurance, they wouldn't pay. I asked how does he know that? He said they would only pay if a certain amount was damaged. And that he could see (from the ground) that it wasn't enough. I asked don't you want to go up and see if there are more areas. He said NO! I have thirty years experience. I don't need to. I said, but, to do an estimate... he didn't let me finish. He said, I'll do the work, but, i don't need to look now. I said, no, you can go now.
The way he spoke to me was very condescending. As if I couldn't understand
the situation. I feel that if a contractor or anyone you are hiring won't look at the whole situation before providing an estimate, you are leaving yourself open to bigger headaches. I don't know how well Tanner Roofing would work. But, I think that's just as well. If someone cannot be bothered to do the bare minimum to provide an estimate. I don't want them working on my house.

I'm sorry after my experience I would NOT recommend this company! The subcontractors they hired left huge messes in my yard daily. I was still picking up nails and trash out of my yard the day after they finished the last work. They did not lay a proper tarp which resulted in my back deck and patio furniture being damaged. As well as the workers damaged screen windows and a small section of my siding on my home. I was willing to over look the deck and just repaint it myself, and even over look the damaged furniture as I realize things happen. we all make mistakes. I was even willing to forgive the fact that the 2 day job somehow turned into a long 6 day job (resulting in me having to cancel my vacation with my family). However I did ask that the screens and siding be fixed or they compensate me somehow for that. The only thing Tanner roofing did was replace my screens. It has been over a week since work has been finished and I reported the damages to them and I have still not heard anything from this company.
