On Wednesday, 16 Nov., I reached out to Tampa Roof Repair for an estimate via phone then by text at 4:56 pm. Received a same day reply at 5:01 from Cynthia informing me next availability was Friday. Which I replied okay and gave my address. Cynthia said she would be able to give me the time frame tomorrow, the 17th, which she did and the estimate was set for Friday the 18th between 3 and 5.
David the estimator arrived at approx. 3:30 and did the estimate. Before leaving he said either Sat from him or Monday Cynthia I would receive the estimate.
On Wednesday, 23 Nov I contacted Cynthia asking to schedule the repair and would I be getting an estimate for the wood damage.
On Wednesday, 30 Nov, 4:30, sent a text to Cynthia asking about scheduling the repair.
On Friday, 2 Dec, still no response, I called at 12:24 and received a text reply from Cynthia she was in a meeting and would get back to me. She called at 1:17 and said I was scheduled for the repair by David on Monday, 5 Dec. He would fit me in between estimates. When I asked for a time, she said I would get it tomorrow, Saturday, via call or text.
Sunday, 4 Dec, 3:10, I sent a text to Cynthia informing her I still hadn't received any contact about the time for repair and that I didn't want to be waiting around all day. She replied via text at 3:14 that she had been out of the office all weekend and would get the info to me within 2 hours. At 4:47 I received a text saying ""David will be there between 10-12""
On 5 Dec at 1:19, I called Cynthia to ask where David was (1 hr 19 mins past scheduled time and no contact from neither Cynthia nor David). She texted back she was on the other line and she would call me right back. At 1:30 I replied via text ""Strike 3 your out"" and added how I have been neglected through this whole process. No response. David texted me at 2:02 that day saying ""Good afternoon I am headed your way next. GPS says that I'm approximately 25 minutes away from."" I replied ""No thanks"".
I can't explain why Cynthia didn't contact him to say the repair was off. Maybe they wanted to put a positive spin on it by being able to say David was on his way. 2 hours late and no respect from either to contact me and all the other times I had to initiate to get information, not a company to do business with. I waited till now to post because I wanted to give the company a chance to explain itself. Obviously they don't care to. Maybe the job was too small, maybe they have enough business they can treat people poorly, maybe these two are badly behaving employees - not my job to fix unprofessionalism.

Great customer service and very responsive. They were out to look at my roof within 24 hours and gave me a pretty good quote on the spot. I was very impressed with the quote I got because I thought it was gonna be much more expensive. The gentleman that came to my house was very knowledgeable and made sure he looked at the whole roof and even crawled in the attic.

I contacted Tampa Roof Repair after I noticed a water spot on my ceiling. They text me and set up an appointment. David responded to my house on time for my appointment. He was professional and polite. He went up into my attic and was able to determine that the leak was coming from my A/C line and not my roof. He was able to explain everything to me and was honest about his finding and didn't try to sell or repair something that wasn't broken.I would highly recommend these guys. I will definitely be calling them in the future for any roof issues.

My quest to find an honest and capable roofer continues. Sadly, Tampa Roof Repair does not seem to fit this description.
I called them for a quote to address a minor roof leak. The rep came out and spent some time on the roof. Then declared that there are 10 cracked tiles and that one of them probably caused the leak. So far so good. I pretty much agreed with this assessment. He left and said 'the office' would send the quote.
This is the trick they always use, that they do not have to look you in the face when they quote their outrageous fantasy amounts. I would have blushed in this case, too. What happened is that a couple days later I received an email quoting $1050 for this job (i.e. glueing 10 tiles back together with epoxy).
The quote contained no information about labor or materials etc...just the amount. So I asked if they could break it out and itemize man-hours and materials. What came back was this: ""work: $650, materials $350"". Not withstanding that now the amount had apparently dropped to $1000 (math does not seem to be their strong side, but they do not really need it since the amounts are pure fiction anyway). So I asked, how many man-hours $650 would correspond to, and what materials would be used for $350. I did not receive an answer anymore.

Which is not really surprising, since there could not have been any answer that would have made sense in any realistic way.

So I went to the Home Depot and bought a cartridge of roofer epoxy ($4.95 aka 'materials'...;-) and put the ladder to the roof. About 2 hrs later I was done. 10 tiles glued back together. An experienced roofer would have probably been able to do it in one hour. $650 seems a pretty high hourly wage for a roofer, especially considering that the first and last English speaking person encountered in such a transaction is usually the guy doing the inspectiossessment, and that the actual work is done by someone who just immigrated, and probably earns something around $20/hr. Granted, there is 'overhead' and taxes etc...I would have gladly accepted a quote for $200, but $1050 is pretty outrageous for this little job in my opinion. These guys are on the take!

Bottom line: Stay away from Tampa Roof Repair. This does not seem to be a very honest company.
And never try hiring a roofer right before the Hurricane season starts...;-).

I'm giving Tampa Roof a 4/5 stars because Erik the owner strives to provide outstanding service and genuinely cares about the customer and their experience. This company wouldn't be what it is without him.

I originally left a poor, dissatisfied review due to our circumstance when hiring Tampa Roof for a roof replacement. The project was handled by another representative/subcontractor who promised they could get the job done within 2 weeks as was necessary to comply with our insurance in order to avoid penalty. While we believe he was well intentioned, the ball was dropped from start to finish taking our roof a total of 3 months to be completed.

I think the lack of experience working in Pasco County, the driving distance, COVID, plus maybe some personal issues caused our project to be put off... however, because the job wasn't done on time and because the representatives who were in charge of this project became unresponsive for 2 weeks after several weeks of the job remaining ""incomplete""/hanging due to missing permits being pulled, I unfortunately cannot give a full 5 stars.

In an effort to find another solution we filed public complaints. Erik (the owner), whom was unaware of the situation, contacted us directly, fully attentive and willing to do whatever he could to resolve the issues. He was understanding and patient with our frustration (and we were VERY frustrated) and became our point of contact from there forward. He expedited the structural engineering and re-permitting process and refunded us $750 of our $23,400 payment.

I truly believe this situation was an unintentional mismanagement of costs and timing, and had there been more prompt communication and efforts from the staff, I think we could have been satisfied. We want to thank Erik for his efforts to improve our experience as best as he could. He genuinely cares about his company and takes full consideration of what can be learned and improved from this scenario.

The removal of the old roof, wood replacement, and clean up was done in one day. It rained that day and the roof was well protected. The new roof was installed quickly, which received impressive comments from two neighbors. I would highly recommend your company.
