Scotts just did my second roof with this company I only replaced now due to insurance my roof was around 15 yrs old but never had a leak they did a wonderful job first time. second roof replace their customer service was prompt took a few days to get a estimate then a couple weeks later i got a new roof these people have been around 50 years these days you have to be doing something right to be around that long my first roof i dealt with Tommy Scott this time I dralt his son Tyler found them both knowledgeable, prompt and likeable Go with this company you will not regret it

Tommie the owner came out within a few days, explained to us why our roof was leaking and where it was previously installed wrong. Gave us a fair quote pushed us in to his already busy schedule. Two weeks later two days time we had a complete tear off then a new roof. They followed through gave us good workmanship, I have already called him for another property we own . Scott's Roofing is a local family owned business that has been in Tavares for decades. The business is run entirely by family members. The installing crews are directly employed by Scott's. They do not use random subcontractors to perform the work. I have used this company about a half dozen times in the last 25 years and have always been satisfied. The latest job performed at my residence involved replacement of our roof that Scott's installed in 1997. The old roof was still intact without leaks and was replaced primarily for aesthetic reasons and to qualify for better insurance rates. The crew arrived on time and completed a large 59 roofing square job in 2 days. It was obvious this crew has worked together for a long time because everyone seemed to know exactly what they were supposed to do with very little direction needed from the crew supervisor. I was home most of the time and can attest that the job was done properly. In the unlikely event that an issue arises during the life of this roof I am confident they will still be around to take care of it. If long term performance is important this is the best company to use in this area.

Owner came out to give me a quote on replacing two damaged shingles. Satisfied with the quote, we agreed to move forward with scheduling. Owner relayed a crew from his company will return within two weeks to complete the job. Three weeks later, no show, no call, no follow up! After calling Scott's roofing's office, I was told by answering party they were unaware of the requested services. Within two days, I received a call back informing me they will indeed be at my residence to complete the requested job that Friday. Fast forward nearing a month later from initial quote. Again, NO show, NO call, No follow up! I do understand replacing two shingles doesn't garner the revenue of a total roof replacement. Hey, I'm even ok with being told, ""Sorry, the job is too small."" However, I'm not ok with poor customer service and poor responsiveness. Job has since been completed by a more diligent company! Would Not Recommend this one!

Completely Unreliable
The owner came out and gave me a decent quote and talked about how it's a family-owned company that really takes care of its clients. As he left, he said he would call in 1-2 days to confirm arrival for repairs. 9 days later, after hearing nothing, I called the office and was told they had people out sick and the rain had delayed things. The office manager promised they would be out that Thursday, and that they would call Wednesday to confirm time so I could arrange to be home to pen my dogs up. NO CALL on Wednesday, no show and no call on Thursday. Left a voicemail Friday at the office, no answer. COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE.

I contacted Scotts roofing , received an estimate ,signed the contract and expected to get a date soon thereafter. I waited patiently for quite a few weeks. I called and called and emailed to hear every time that hopefully next week they will be able to start the repair. It went on like this for weeks. After almost 3 month and getting closer to the rainy season I decided to go with a different company who did the repair in a timely manner.
Until today 6 month later I did not ever get a call back. I don't understand why they didn't bother to let me know that they can't do the repair or are not interested in the job. I would have understood and moved on. But it is very unprofessional to simply drop a customer without an explanation.
I would not recommend this company to anyone.

The original contact was pretty good.

It appears there follow thru is not.

I had a estimate given on 11/14/2017

They were busy from recent storms and said could begin in March.

Waited till end of Jan 2018 to re connect, emailed several requests on when they could start. No Response.

After several attempts finally get a response via email that they could possible start in Lat March or April?

You would think that a quality company would contact bids out to ensure work?

I feel I may have to contact a different group to complete the task in a reasonable amount of time.

Middle of March, no contact on when they would start, paid a deposit but nothing?
I don't think I'd recommend them for prompt service not the best in keeping up with there pending work

3/16/2018 UPDATE

Posted more to Social Media and office calls asking to take down my rating?! They are attempting to work me in?? That's been the story since signing contract with them.
Communication on the scheduling is of utmost importance. I need work done they came recommended by The Community of Highland Lakes and I'm beginning to wonder if I should have used a different contractor. When the office staff calls back and informs me that ""There working me in"" you would think they would put that at the top of the list of priorities.

Better Business was contacted.
This company was to refund the deposit payed out.

To this date and posting it has not occurred?!

Seems like they wanted to do the work based on them cashing the check that was hand delivered.

BEWARE of this company as it appears they don't follow thru on there promises or requests by the BBB.

Can't say I would recommend them to anyone for there honesty or policies and procedures.

A follow up to the BBB will be next, I don't think the results will be any better and I don't foresee them refunding my Monies.

I am anticipating legal actions will be forth coming.

Quality name brand products installed by polite professional workers. I have used Scott's Roofing several times and will continue to do so. Their prices are very competitive.

I felt as if the value I received from Scott's was far greater than several contractors who may have bid lower.
