My neighbor referred me to TJ and son roofing. I had a few estimates 2 of which were rediculously high for my requirements. DJ showed up on time, talked to about the process, what i needed and gave me a very decent estimate which he stayed on track with. Great communication throughout and completed the job in under 2 days. Hauling and cleanup too. I'm very happy with the entire process.

If I could give 100 stars I would. TJ Roofing was responsive, professional, hard working, knowledgeable, and a never ending list of compliments. My roof was beyond repair in my eyes and they performed a miracle. They have such extensive knowledge of new and old homes and provide step by step updates so you feel in full control of what is happening. I can not recommend them enough. I had TJ Roofing come out and provide a bid for our small roof on our extended family room. They were very pleasant professional. However, their quote was misleading and the final billing was completely unexpected and way more than even anticipated. We asked for a quote for the roof and an overhang above the door. At no time did they state that the overhang would not be included in the bid, they only mentioned that they could not include the cost of any possible wood damage they may find after removing the old roof. We did not even receive an actual written bid until the 2nd day they were out here. That wasn't the issue because the written bid was very close to their verbal bid on the phone. On their written bid, it stated that we would be charged $55 / hour per man for WOOD ROT REPAIR. After ripping off the roof they stated their was a minimal amount of wood rot that needed repair and that would be the $55 / hour per man. We agreed. When we received the final billing the total cost was $ 1,700.00 above the original bid. Subtracting the cost of materials (which you would think is included in the original cost because it was not stated prior to that materials would be extra), and the permit fees we were still about $ 1,050.00 over the bid. They charged us a total of 17 hours @ $ 55 / hour per man. Total cost for their WOOD ROT REPAIR hourly rates was $ 1,485.00. Mind you they were here a total of 4 actual days, and their total actual hours of work for all 4 days was 17 hours. How is that possible. When I asked for an explanation, their was no mention of how much the actual wood rot repair was (approx. 2 hours to repair), they stated it was for the overhang the construction. I pointed out their bid and showed them where it stated it would be the $ 55 / hour per man for the cost of WOOD ROT REPAIR, and no where did it state that as a cost for any new construction. So basically, there are hidden unexpected cost, they charged me the $ 55 / hour per man for the entire job (the entire time they were here) and never worked a full day. Every time we asked them to provide a explanation of the cost they continued to back peddle, and mentioned multiple reasons why the cost was so much, and could not explain the cost of $55 / hour per man that they charged me. Be very aware, and if I were you, stay clear.

Lots of rain and high demand for roof repairs but they still made it out with just a couple days notice. Was getting new carpet and noticed a leak. This small family company came to our rescue. Super professional. Called when they were delayed. Fixed my leak before the next rain. Even said just mail a check. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommend.

I interviewed by phone and/or email well over a dozen local roofing companies in Monterey and other nearby counties before I chose TJ Roofing. They may not take credit cards but they make up for it in what you save and they work with your budget constraints. I came across quite a few bad or rude roofers in my quest and see they have highly rated reviews - that astounds me. Reviews are to help both the customer and the company - with customer service being first. TJ Roofing loves what they do, has been in the field for decades and excels in service, attitude, price and quality. They ripped off the original roof (1976) fixed a few minor boards that had dry rot and then the laying of the stunning Presidential Shake TL in Aged Bark (other places have names that would be sienna or antique brown, i.e.) began. Inspectors respect this company - which means a lot on warranty for the owner and scores heavy points for TJ Roofing. Tom and Joy are TJ Roofing and their crew are both polite and efficient. They work one job at a time - which means a lot in the care and condition your home deserves. They were worth the wait. This company should be listed as the #1 in the Monterey County and surrounding counties' area - EXCELLENCE at a price you can afford. No mess to clean up after when they leave. T J Roofers is a small family owned company. They offer free inspections and has a very professional crew. The usual amount of time for a typical roof to be replaced takes 2 days. Worried about debris falling into your garden or yard? Don't worry, they clean after themselves and will leave nothing behind. They also do patchwork as well. just give them a call and they will hook you up!
