Superior roofing, Kurt Grosser, installed a roof on a rental property for me back in 2009. They did a great job and were easy to work with.

I am now in need of roof repair on my primary residence. I have called Superior no less than six times. Each time I called I was greeted by an answering machine.

Each time I left a message on their machine. I've included my name, address, phone number, and the fact they had done work for me in the past. In an effort to make scheduling easier for Superior, I said they could come out and inspect the roof at any time, and contact me later with the results of their inspection. I also attempted to reach them through their contact form on their website. Not one time did I receive any form of a reply.

I'm truly disappointed by their lack of a response. I can understand a company being busy, but not so busy that they can't reply to customer request. I would have liked for Kurt and Superior Roofing to do the repair on my roof. It looks like I am now going to need to search for another contractor.

Frances called back after I left a message requesting an estimate. She was helpful and very nice to speak with even though they, like all roofers right now, are crazy busy right now. The estimate might not be done as soon as I would like, but this good first communication convinced me that i would want to wait and hopefully work with this company.

Very happy with our new roof from Kurt and his crew - some gutters were replaced as well. They were fast and professional. The end result looks great. There were a couple of misstarts in terms of communication between the roofer and siding co. as we were getting both done and there were some details they needed to work out together, but not sure what caused the problem and it was sorted out reasonably quickly and the end result was great because they worked together to solve a few very tricky junctions. I'd use them again, and the one area that they could improve a little is communications as it felt like there were some times when we left messages at the office and were not sure if they got through. Not a big enough issue to give them anything less than 5 stars though.

It seriously bums me out to have to give a one-star review to a local business but I've called and left messages throughout this week and haven't received a call back yet. Prompt response - even just an acknowledgement of the call - is an important part of customer service.

Kurt and crew did excellent work at our home in marin I highly recommend them. Kurt was knowledgeable and a fun guy to work with. He helped us out with a few other side issues we were having with our house and made a few extra trips just to check that everything was working out. Kurt and crew are great.

""Superior"" is not just the name of the business, it's the work, the service and the crew!
Kurt, his foreman Salvador and the extremely professional crew have now installed 4 new and different roof surfaces at our property. His bid is always competitive and sometimes the lowest. I was skeptical, even though they were highly recommended, when the first bid for a job here came in the lowest, but it was a small job so I gave them a try. I could not have been more pleased! Since that first job they have done service calls on two roofs that they didn't even install (one on Christmas EVE!) bid all of our work, and performed it all SEAMLESSLY! When we needed a special application for a flat roof, Kurt and Salvador traveled for the extensive training with the manufacturer, bid against long time installers, was competitive and installed the roofing perfectly. What makes it a pleasure to work with Superior is their 'customer first' attitude, professionalism on the job and SUPERIOR application. They answer their phones with a smile in their voice! They are a small, family owned company, and yet they really go out of their way to make time for you. I never mix business with my home projects when it comes to contractors, but I made an exception with Kurt. He was really busy at the time, but he sent a full crew, on a Saturday, to install my new roof in one day, in order to fit the job in. I see the other reviewers have commented on the ability to reach Kurt...I say, if you don't reach him the first time, call again and again until you do reach him. He is most likely out working with another customer and the effort will be worth it in the end!

I called twice and left messages. No call backs. On the third call, I left a message saying I really thought it was a bit much that I had to call three times. Kurt's wife called back and apologized on a voicemail. I called back again two more times and left messages. She never called back to set an appointment.
And, just so you know, every time I called it was in business hours. I wish I could use Kurt, but I just can't get through to make an appointment.

In 45 years I have dealt with a lot of roofers for numerous homes. I feel as though I've seen everything. Bad roofers, good roofers, dishonest roofers, late roofers, and those who either never call you back or return your call weeks after you have called to get a quote. A few years ago I found Superior Roofing Solutions. They were a newer company at that time and I thought I would give them a try and see what they had to offer in terms of value and service. My first impression of Kurt when he came to provide me with an estimate was that this guy was direct, honest and reliable. So much so that I ended up hiring Superior to do the job even though I was leaving town. Kurt kept me informed with daily calls and photo documentation of each stage of the work. The job was complex because it was an old house with a multi-level roof and a great deal of dry rot. The job was solid, and completed on time. Twelve years later that job still stands strong and impervious. Recently, I decided once again to test the waters and see what kind of roofers were out there for a different property. I called 5 roofing contractors, two of which are major players in Marin County. One required three calls before they agreed to come provide a quote that was astronomical and failed to recognize major roofing defects that needed attention. Two said they were too busy to provide an estimate and suggested I call them next Spring (literally). One came and examined the roof and said he would call me with a quote. Three weeks later I called him and was told that he ""forgot the job"" and needed help recalling what he had said while on my roof, then through a random number out over the phone providing no written details. I had seen enough to inspire me to call Superior once again. Kurt showed up within 24 hours and not only quoted on what I asked him to but he also noted genuine issues needing immediate attention that no roofer had previously pointed out. Once on the job, Kurt discovered problems underneath the roof membrane that required significantly more time to address than Kurt had accounted for. Yet he never suggested additional charges for that labor. When he discovered four of my downspouts were aged and damaged once he pulled up the tar and gravel surface, he simply replaced them with new ones and never asked to be further compensated. Working from a home office, I was able to monitor every stage of the job. The crew was neat, orderly, on time and always left the job clean and free of debris. I believe they did excellent work for an exceptional value. Some things never change - and when it's an honest, reliable, and skilled roofer who provides quality work at a fair price, that's a good thing!

I have had numerous experiences with contractors, and by far Superior Roofing stands out as one of the best. Kurt, the owner is very courteous and professional; the cost was realistic and fair, I received a call back in a reasonable time frame and the work was completed with quality and no surprises.

I can't say enough good things about this experience, a new roof and new gutters are a huge investment, and Superior Roofing makes you feel like it is money well spent. They stand behind their work!
