After the heavy rains earlier this year, we were looking for a reputable firm that could help us with construction. Sunset Home Builders came out to our house in the Hollywood Hills above Universal Studios. They surveyed the damage.

Sunset suggested that instead of simply replacing the roof, we could install insulation, solar panels with an integrated energy management system to sell power back to the grid AND put a new roof on our house.

The important point they explained was that by bundling the roof, insulation and solar, the entire cost would qualify for a tax credit! I was suspicious, so I checked with my CPA. Sure enough, Sunset was correct. They solved our leaky roof problem and provided us with a revenue source AND it cost us very little money.

I had a energy efficient ""flat"" roof replaced, new rain gutters installed, and some of the fascia boards replaced on my house. I got four bids for the job, threw out the highest and the lowest bids, and then looked at reviews, which is how I chose to use them. Firstly, Omri struck me as being honest and dependable. Also, I was impressed by how quickly this company was able to start the work (and it was fairly short notice). They were flexible with my odd work schedule. The guys doing the actual labor were very polite and cleaned up at the end of each day they worked. To be honest, a couple of small concerns did arise, but Omri never argued about the validity of my concerns or made me feel dumb for mentioning them, and he immediately agreed they would be resolved to my satisfaction (and they were). Finally, I would like to say that Omri and Nathan treated me like family, such great guys. I would definitely use them again for future projects, and am very happy to recommend them.

Earlier this year I wanted to get a solar system on an older home in LA before missing out on the net metering rule changed. I also needed a new roof to be installed before the solar system got on it. I started with getting several bids and got contacted by at least half a dozen companies which all wanted to do the roof and solar project. I ended up having personal meeting with four perspective companies and cost estimates. I ended up going with Omri from Sunset Home Builders for a number of reasons, low price, good products and it seemed he knew what he was doing.
Right after we executed the contract, Omri and their roofing folks went to work. They also started the design and permit process for the solar system right away. Spring rain storms were coming through every every few days, so the roofers had to work fast, getting the old roof off and getting the new materials up on the roof. Getting the area cleaned up after every work day was a challenge due to the number of old nails falling everywhere. The did OK with only a few nails left on the driveway even though they worked into the night when it was dark. I inspected the new roof as it was going up several times and watched the workers do their best to get things done before each rain storm. In the end, they still had to cover the roof with plastic when only 2/3 of the new roof was done one night when a rain storm came in. The roof got done the next week with some special work to deal with a problem spots which was caused by a poor design that existed decades ago.
The solar project got done after several missed start dates and delays from city inspectors for an electrical panel upgrade. Omri should have contacted me to give me more of an heads up on scheduling issues. But given he was working on several other projects on a rush basis, I excused his oversight. He always responded to my questions or issues within hours. Much better than other contractors I've had in the past. The solar system work has been completed for several weeks now but DWR has still not given us a ""Permission To Operate"" yet.
My five star ratting is mainly given due to the attentiveness of Omri and the completion of the work when there must have been a real rush on roofing and solar projects in the region.

I cannot express how grateful I am for finding Sunset Home Builders. Omri was the best to work with. He was very knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions and phone calls. ( I even accidently called after hours and he was still nice enough to answer questions) He gave me honest and helpful feedback to help determine what my roof issue is and how he could address it. He also was able to help me understand the cost of my project as well as why it would be that cost. I cannot recommend them enough and cannot wait until we can start our project.

Omri came out to my house and we discussed all the options for my roof. Once we agreed to the kind I wanted and the price, he got straight to work and provided permits through the whole process. Also surprisingly the job took just a little over two weeks because of rain we had. All in all everything was done very professional and Omri makes you feel at ease by explaining every step in detail.
Very happy with my roof now and highly recommend Omri and Sunset Builders with confidence to all my family and friends who are thinking of getting a new roof or even needing repairs of their existing one.

Where do I begin! Everything about Sunset Home Builders turned from a design, into a reality. Omri came over and explained the CSLB trade codes and what we're allowed to do, and what we're not allowed to do, and together we designed a beautiful backyard in our home for our family.

Omri and his crew came over every day, showed up on time and left the area clean. Pavers were laid, artificial grass was done, and they also added a drip irrigation system so I don't have to worry about watering the plants anymore. All in all, I recommend Omri and his team for your home remodeling project.

Contracted Sunset Home Builders for a Paver project in the front yard and driveway. Yosef came out and met with me and my wife and provided job site photos and explained the whole process. Yosef was very knowledgeable and friendly and spent a lot of time reviewing the current Paver project as well as some work I wanted done at a future date. Paver project exceeded my expectations. Workers were amazing and kept the work site clean and organized. Many of my neighbors have commented on how great the Pavers look. I'm so pleased with the work quality and professionalism of Sunset Home Builders and Yosef that I've decided to contract them for some additional exterior remodeling projects. Will post an updated review once the other work is complete.

I highly recommend sunset home builders. after meeting with few contractors, we felt like they really knew how to handle things and gave us points to think about that other contractors didn't even think about, the price was in our budget. we hired them to do my grandparents roofing, solar & exterior paint - the energy efficient project. we are beyond happy with the entire team and especially with Omri the project manager, he was respectful, knowledgeable, professional and always on time. the team was highly motivated and worked after jours to be ready on time for all inspections. Joseph is great! So personable and easy to work with. On time and on budget. Solid work. He and his crew really know their stuff. I'm an interior designer and I've worked with a lot of contractors and builders. It doesn't get better than Sunset Home Builders! Highly recommended.
