I chose SunLux because of their reputation and for who was promoting them. I might have gotten a slightly lower price elsewhere, but I wouldn't have gotten the peace of mind that comes with their process and guarantees. They were very professional from the start, even admitting to accidentally spilling some paint on my driveway that I would never have noticed. I liked how much I was able to contribute to the discussion of how big the system should be. I was included the whole time. I also like the Solar Edge monitoring app. The only thing I might have liked for them to do differently is to give me some written instructions on how to turn on the unit. I was supposed to get a lesson after the inspection. But with a last minute change of time by the county, I was unable to get there. So it would have been nice to have something in writing.

I called Sun Lux after hearing about them on the Radio. Paul came out to my house on a Sunday. I purchased solar for a previous house from another company, and have done tons of research on pricing of panels and quality of them. I told Paul I didn't want to waist his time and I was looking at panels installed for under $800 a panel. Being a contractor myself, I can't see paying a company a profit of 30-40k for a days work. Pail said he understood. I had two other bids and told him the pricing of them. After an hour and a half of him telling me about Sun Lux and their product, he said he will email the quote to me. After receiving his quote, I was floored. His price was $43,000 more then my lowest bid and was $18,000 higher then my highest bid. I told Paul I didn't appreciate him waiting my time on a Sunday, when he told me he would come in with a price where we discussed. His response was, good luck going with another company using f''''ed up panels. Again as a contractor myself, I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company. This is a new company that has not been in business too long. I would not count on them being around too long with customer service like this.

We were contacted by the regional manager with apologies and wanted to make things right by working with us to design a system to fit our needs.

In the long run, we decided to go with a different provider in the East Bay Area who was more familiar with PG&E.



I contacted SunLux for a estimate to purchase panels for our home in Fremont, CA in Northern California. I was concerned that the company is based in San Diego but SunLux has been advertising heavily in the Bay Area on the radio and a yelp reviewer in the Bay Area gave them high marks. After my limited experience, that 4 star rating from the Bay Area was NOT my experience.

I was contacted by Cheryl, a marketing specialist, after I sent in a request on The SunLux website. I told her my concerns about SunLux not being based in the Bay Area, but she told me that SunLux has a regional office in Livermore. She also said that they could do an internet based meeting where we go over an Internet demo while speaking to a representative over the phone or a representative could come to our home. If I'm going to spend $10k, I want someone to come to my home. I sent Cheryl my PG&E usage for the year and she said she would send me an email with a meeting confirmation.

3 days later and no email confirmation, I contact Cheryl letting her know that I still did not get a meeting confirmation. She apologized and sent an email confirmation that day. Unfortunately, the meeting was for an Internet meeting. I contacted Cheryl letting her know that I requested an in house meeting. She apologized and sent a new meeting confirmation for an in house appointment the following week.

So the day of the meeting finally arrives. My husband comes home early to be at the meeting. A few minutes after our meeting time, I get a call from in unrecognized phone number from Fresno, CA. which is 3.5 hours away from Fremont. I answer the phone, thinking maybe the representative is based in Fresno, but is lost and on his way. I was correct that it was the SunLux rep, but has asks if we are ready for our internet demo. I let him know that I was supposed to have an in-house meeting. He then said that generally the initial meeting is about what SunLux can do for us and would last about 10 minutes. If he had the electricity usage info maybe he would have more information to present to us. I point out that I sent that data to Cheryl, which he in turn tells me that I'm correct (DUH) he has the usage information in his files. UGH!

There are plenty of solar providers in our area and I told him that since they were not prepared for this meeting, they did not have to sent up a new meeting. They had their chance. BYE-BYE

So impressed!

We had been interested in going solar for a number of years and began researching solar panels and installation providers. I contacted several solar companies, including Sunlux, for information and estimates on our household solar needs.
When the Sunlux representative began going through the solar plan for our home we knew we'd finally found the right company. The representative was well prepared and had tailored 'the numbers' of our solar usage to our house and our actual energy needs. We didn't have to guess or try to estimate how many panels or the output or the impact on our long term energy budget. Everything was laid out - easy to understand and clearly presented. And the cost was competitive- less than other companies we had contacted. It was an easy decision to move forward!
And then, Sunlux handled EVERYTHING! They scheduled to evaluate our roofline, and worked with us on an aesthetically appealing panel configuration. They also applied for our solar rebate from the local energy company on our behalf. The installation crew was thorough and efficient and had our 24 panel system installed in a day and a half!
Sunlux then scheduled the city inspection and power company meter installation to finalize the project - we didn't have to a thing! And they kept us notified of each next step along the way.
The panels look amazing and operate wonderfully! Sunlux even sent us a link at the end of the installation to download an app to monitor the output of the panels in real time. We are very grateful that we found such a professional and organized company. We highly recommend this company to anyone who is considering solar! Sunlux made it extremely easy and we can't imagine the process would've been this smooth with any other company. Five stars!

When I first decided to purchase a solar system, I conducted extensive research on different companies, including reading on-line reviews and asking existing customers in my neighborhood. I also obtained estimates from four different companies, before finally deciding on Sunlux. I found Sunlux's prize to be compatible or better than the other companies and I was pleased with the Energy Consultant (Fernando Cano) I met with. During the entire process of obtaining permits, financing and installation, I was very pleased with everyone I dealt with, as they were very professional and courteous.

There were two minor glitches during the entire process, but ultimately everything was resolved to my satisfaction. One of these glitches was a misunderstanding and/or miscommunication regarding the interest rate on the financing. In the process of resolving this issue, Fernando Cano verbally offered to also install a Ring doorbell at my residence free of charge. Once the system was installed, so was the Ring doorbell and I absolutely love it.

The other glitch occurred on installation day when, apparently, the equipment truck destined for my house, sustained a flat tire. This caused the Sunlux employees to arrive late at my residence, which in turn caused them to return the following day (Saturday morning) to finish the job. I like to sleep in late on Saturday mornings, but it is nearly impossible to do so while solar panels are being installed on your roof. Once again, this was something minor and probably beyond anyone's control.

I believe that the bottom line to fairly reviewing any company is to ask your self two important questions after having done business with said company. #1. ""Would I do business with this company again?"" and #2. ""Would I recommend this company to others?"" The answer to both of my questions, ""Yes I would"".

Sunlux won the bid. Received quotations and inspections from three of the biggest solar companies.
Although the prices were similar, Sunlux was able to acquire a unique loan at an amazing interest rate. Also, they did not try to oversell the number of panels.
Installation was fast (4 hours), clean, and almost invisible. Looks great with no system problems in 3 months.

I went through several solar companies comparing and contrasting which one would be the best suite for me based on the following; reviews, price, quality and longevity. SunLux was by far the best in their competitive price and being the only solar company to offer Panasonic panels. The process was smooth from the beginning to the end. I was was notified once a week to twice a week receiving up to date status regarding the installation, inspection and going live. Thank you, SunLux!
